Need to disable ASIO drivers for the Audigy?

Here is my problem..

I use Sonar 3.1 and have both an Audigy (1) and a M Audio Firewire 410.

I need to run the 410 with ASIO drivers so that i can use the GS Wavetable synth in Sonar (Mostly for the metronome)

The wavetable synth cannot be used in WDM driver mode in Sonar.

Right now I cannot select the 410 in ASIO mode becuase the Audigy with the KX drivers is somehow the default card.. It won't allow me to select another card in Sonar. (This is because ASIO lets yo use only one card I think)

Anyway.. I would like to keep the audigy running in my system becuase i need the midi ports, but how can I get it to NOT use ASIO???

Also.. Sonar does not let you send the metronome to a softsynth.. so it kinda sucks at the moment. The only way i can use the metronome is with the Microsoft Wavetable Synth.

I hope someone can help me out with this. I've searched everywhere for a solution... but could'nt find anything useful.

You guys are my last hope!

Sonar should let you change the ASIO driver you are using… and you may be able to add a soundfont in the kX Mixer and use the audigy as the metronome

The problem is that I can see the 410 card in Sonar.. but it is greyed out so I can't select it. It is greyed out.

The only way I can get it to work is if I totally disable the audigy card.. but this also disables the midi ports.

The reason I need both the Wavetable synth and the midi ports is becuase I have a Johnson J-Station for guitars that needs to communicate with my computer via sysex to tweak it's effects.

For some reason the J-Station won't work with the MIDI prots on the M Audio 410. Bad softwaare for the J-Station i guess...

So it's really annoying.. I'm so close!!!!!

The only reason I need the damn audigy now is for my J-Station to work.

midi ports should be the same no matter what card… you can disable the audigy w/o disabling the midi i/o - the gameport is recognised as a seperate device

True

Also think that kX drivers are designed for expanding the asio capabilities of soundblasters. Have you tried to install original creative drivers instead?

strange thing

im not using sonar, but i have in one pc 2 soundcards, 1audigy and 1hoontech dsp24value, and i can switch between the ASIO-driver for this cards. try to reinstall the M-audio card.

the audigy with kx is also the faster card, mostley i use kx, but sometimes i record from radio with 24/96 on the dsp24value
regards, gerald
