Noob alert - Trouble setting up kX - bad latency on VST
Hi.
First off I must apologise as I'm new to kX drivers. I've installed them and get audio no problem. But in Ableton my VST effects have really bad latency. For instance if I change patterns in dBlue Glitch using MIDI CC the pattern change is about 1 beat out. I've tried allsorts of settings to try and sort it out but to no avail. I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum. System: Intel Core2Duo 1.8GHz (overclocked to 2.6) 2Gb RAM 2 x 250Gb SATA hard drives Is there an idiots guide to setting things up nicely? The threads I found here were way over my head! Thanks in advance!

What's your latency like without using VSTs? This may be more of a processor problem..... I know KX can be complex and I'm a noob myself but if non vst recording is also very high latency then there are settings for that. But if that's okay then it's a vst that's a processor hog causing what you are seeing.

AW: Noob alert - Trouble setting up kX - bad latency on VST
Hi,
did you set a correct latency in the kX-Driver?...you should find this setting in the ASIO-configuration of Ableton (like Asio Control Panel or something like that...i don't know ableton...) Try to set the latency to 5.33 ms, that works for most applications just fine, some apps even make 2.66 ms (like Cubase SX for example...) Further you must set the project bitrate to 48.000 hz (NOT 44.100) otherwise it wont work |
