Kx ASIO problems..

K, im fairly new to the whole music production scene, so bare with me please.

I am using a Creative Live value card. I downloaded and installed the Kx drivers as someone told me that they are much better ASIO drivers than the ones that come with the card.

Whenever i go into the cubase sx device manager and select the kx ASIO drivers, i go back to my project and everything is mucked around. For starters, when i play what i have done, it sounds a few semitones higher than what i recorded (transposed my recording). Secondly, each sample had moved a small distance, so when i played it, everything was out of sync.

Can anyone explain why this is happening, and possibly point me in the right direction for tweaking the software so that this doesnt happen? It's extremely frustrating.

I'm not too sure about this, but may this be, because the samples you recorded are 44.1 khz? (recorded earlier)
kX only works with 48 khz

If this is not the case, then disregard this post :-)

thanks, but its not about that. there are no samples, just 48kHz sound synthesis.

edit: uhh, sorry, i thought this was my problems with asio thread

I used to have the same problem, it was because of the sample rate. But now I have a new problem with kX driver. I'm using it for an Audigy, under Win98SE. Every time, when I launch certain programs (e.g. Cubase, or virtual instruments) I hear a sharp clicking sound from the speakers. Does anyone know why?

when you have that problem again, right click on the audio file in the edit window go to pool and select conform file, that will make it work with the present setting.

I've tried kX 3528, but I just can't make a clear audio recording with it, because when I turn on the AC97 channel, there is a white noise beneath the sound. Does anyone know, how can I use my Audigy for audio recording?

What about the Creative driver? I tried it, it sounds clear but with 5ms latency it produces clicks and pops although I have a strong machine (P4-2k, 512Mb RAM).

I've gotten some clicking from vst's and softsamps....When I set the asio latency higher, the clicking went away.

I think I'm the only one with no asio/latency problems with Kx drivers

Currently I'm using Nuendo with a latency of 5ms without problems.

My computer is a Celeron 1.3ghz with 384mb of ram and a IBM 61gb hard disk, running WinXP Pro.
Switching from WinME to WinXP I never installed Creative drivers. I don't know if XP drivers for Live! are the same as creative.

I reccomend WinXP Pro for audio recording and a large hd. I think XP had a better way to manage the swap file.
