CreateBuffers failed

hi there and ... bravoooo!! you know why.

the only problem is ASIO.
I used svh.exe (Simple Virtual Host) for what's next.
I choosed the Kx ASIO driver, and then appeared the following messages:
- ASIO status: buffersize=1024; inputs=16; outputs=16; stereo channels=8; sample rate=48000
- ASIO format (input 1 L): 16
- ASIO format (output 1L): 16
- Error creating input buffer #0: error = -100 [size=4096] GetLastError()=2
Internal Error: ASIO was not initialized corectly
Retry? Yes/No

if(retry=no) CreateBuffers failed

I have a sblive ct4832 powered by (but of course) Kx driver v3533b , windows 2000 sp3, amd k6-II, soltek mainboard with intel chipset..

>inputs=16; outputs=16 - reduce the number of opened kx asio inputs/outputs (if svh provides this option of course).

you need to have a look at the debug info displayed by any debug monitor (such as found here: kxdev.narod.ru)

I doubt the problem is with the number of voices -- probably, the 'simple host' doesn't init the ASIO driver correctly

Control Panel->Multimedia->audio->hw accel=full

I tried the monitor and, of course, it displayed some lines.

Then I tried the speaker test, a message appeared saying that I should set hw acceleration to full and sample rate to best in ctrl_panel/multimedia. And I said "Aha!" However, I could hear the left.wav and right.wav.

I made the changes above, now the speaker test did no warning message, but the left/right wavs didn't sound.

But ASIO works fine.
Sorry for bugging you..

But could there be a way to enable/disable the asio channels in kx asio control panel? I guess many applications open all the channels and they don't have an option to disable some of them. However, Cubase/Logic are most used and they have this option....
Or maybe there's something I can hack in registry to disable some channels...

Good luck.

>> but the left/right wavs didn't sound

perhaps you haven't switched your connections (front & rear issue)

>> number of asio channels

perhaps in the future
