Wave sound disappears with the kX-driver

I'm running Windows Vista with kX 3537 and ASIO4ALL.

Soundcard Creative SB Live.

My problem is that after innstalling the kX driver, the windows wave sound dissappears.
When I play mp3 or wma there is just silence. And yes, I've tried different programs and doubblechecked all mute-boxes

Although playing midi works fine, which is why I need the driver in the first place. (I us a USB-Midi-Keyboard for soft synths).

Anyways, this means that I have to uninstall the kX driver everytime I want to listen to music.

Any ideas ?

Also, after innstalling the kX driver the recording devices in the picture below disappears.. Pretty weird

Hmm..
It seems to work better, but there is still no sound. When playing an mp3 or wma the green-marked meters are moving but all I get is silence. (Control Panel > Sound > Playback)

..and now I don't get any sound from playing midi eighter..
Is this normal ?

there is probably 2 things to fix this...
1) plug your speakers into the REAR jack (they are swapped by default)
2) Change the 'Swap Front <> Rear' option in kX mixer main page

Great it worked!
Thanks!

But there is still one more problem.

My mic has disappeared from Control Panel > Sound > Recording ...

When I try to record wih the Sound Recorder I get a message that says "An audio recording device cannot be found."

Advice ?

well - I dont have Vista... but in XP - I choose 'kX Wave' as windows default recording device - then I set *what* I want to record in kX Mixer 'Record' page (set level for AC97) - and set AC97 page to record MIC (drop down menu).... but maybe a forum search would be better if I am wrong.. ??

Sorry thats the best I have for ya...
