New to Kx, Setting up monitoring with Tracktor 3.

Hey everyone,

Now I know this has been discussed many times before but most I have seen have been for specific sound cards or I didn't understand fully. I am using a creative sound blaster live, the older one with the gold sockets on the back rather than the coloured ones. I am using kX driver build 3537 and Tracktor DJ 3.2.2.020. I want to set it up so I can press the cue botton on one player and hear it through my headphones while the other is on the main output allowing me to cue up a track in the headphones before its mixed in to the live output, just like a real mixer . Could anyone run me through what I have to do in order to achive this? Could it be explained quite noob friendly so I can follow it ok, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks and look foward to your responces.

With the default DSP config, you could set Surrounder to 4.0 mode, and use ASIO 4/5 for the signal that you want sent to the front speakers/headphones, and ASIO 6/7 for ths signal that you want sent to the rears (or vice-vera if the "Toggle Swap Front and Rear" option is enabled in kxmixer). That is pretty much all there is to it.

Beyond the above, you can create a custom DSP config and manually route the signals where you want. i.e. Connect FxBus/ASIO pairs to the speaker connection on epilog that you want to use (and any filters (EQ, etc) that you want to add in between).
