Noisy input

Hey - I'm finding my Line-In input is quite noisy, even with nothing connected. I've tried a few things in the DSP - just having a straight src (line 2L) -> asio (0), and a modified version of the default DSP (removing prolog and adding src (line2L). Both had about the same amount of noise and it was a lot higher than I expected and than with the native creative drivers (do they have a default noise gate or something?).

Any ideas? I saw AC97 mentioned when I did a search but I didn't really get it (to be honest).

I'm using an Audigy 2 Platinum Pro ZS.

Thanks
Dan

Hi inertiac:

I have the same soundcard, now, and there's a problem with this model card and kX. I will post a thread that covers this issue at the end of this post, but I would like to ask you some questions because I bought my ZS Pro (a refurbished model) from Creative off of eBay and I'm not sure if it's working right.

For instance, I'm using the .3538m driver and ProFx v3.08, the ProFX ADC plugin doesn't work at all for me. I have to use and instance of the ProFX SRC plugin and set it to Mic 2/Line In 2 for my my to work (and my Mic is connected to the Mic 1/Line In 1 connector on the external HUB, this is something I find wierd).

What's your experience? Can you use the ADC ProFX plugin? What version of kX and ProFX are you using?

Again, kX doesn't fully support the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. Here's the thread I'm talking about: Noise problem with Audigy 2 ZS and 3537

I have the a noisy input on my ZS with breakout box ,, the only fix for me is to unplug and replug the ad link2 cable at the sound card end,, which clears the problem. Still get the odd lockup with kX when using problem Vsts in my DAW software though which is annoying and requires a reboot.
