I can monitor in Cubase through Cubase's software monitoring but ACID only uses the "hardware" monitoring.

hmm...the way I have it set up, you can hear the inputs at ALL times (no matter what program is open...unless you mute them in the mixer of course) i find it to be perfect for me
... try going to the DSP page, and connecting the inputs you want, from *prolog > IN input on the routing* AND *prolog > ASIO input on epilog*
I hope that makes sense, hehe

The second question is that in Cubase 5.1 I tried to record 2 audio tracks simultaneously. I got them set up and routed and was getting level on both but whenever I start to record it switches one of them off. Can you record multiple tracks at all with the SBLive 5.1 Platinum or does the way its hardware work not permit it. (I have read about routing problems?)

options menu > multirecord > active
you can now set up as many audio tracks to record as you want. just "enable" the ones you want (a new icon appears in the inspector column to show which ones are enabled, and select different inputs for each.
