Installer Notes While the Omegas install was quite smooth and easy the DNA installer was less then pleasant. The DNA installer could use a lot of work. Not to mention what could happen when ATI realizes he’s removed their license agreement. This is quite interesting…..
Omega drivers come bundled with several utilities. DNA drivers come bundled with only Radlinker, yet the installer package is almost the same size. The DNA drivers have just recently started to use Setup Factory. In my opinion the DNA driver author doesn’t appear very knowledgeable with this package. He does not seem to be able to make the package swap files on demand and accept custom settings like the Omega installer does. This is especially noticeable by having to replace files in the installer directory to be able to use DNA’s softmod. Omega’s installer seems to take all the work out of the installation.
Test Setup System loaded only with needed software and hardware for testing. All benchmarks are tested a 1024x768 @ 32bit color. To ensure no errors could occur, a clean os was installed between testing sets. Hardware
