Computex 06 - Allan "Zardon" Campbell

Nvidia

Following up from my prior article on Computex, on the last day of Computex we had considerable time with Nvidia and met with their vice president Roy Taylor as well as engineers and head of PR Derek Perez.

Nvidia had a public stand in one of the main halls of Computex with many products on display however they invited us to their private function room and we sat with their vice president for a very indepth discussion and I had the pleasure of being personally escorted by several of their chief engineers and technicians for a look at some of their forthcoming products. Some aspects of this im not at liberty yet to discuss but I can show many of the products they had on display in their function room.

The photographs above show a range of Nvidia hardware as well as forthcoming motherboards to support the full range of intel conroe processors. Nvidia engineers and representatives made it quite clear that Intel Conroe performance was a lightning fast partner for SLI and Quad based systems. They also had a wide array of test systems on display with many popular titles such as F.E.A.R. running on 30inch Dell LCD's with all the eye candy maximised.

The system above was running on a forthcoming Conroe platform with four 120mm fans cooling the quad SLI powered system underneath. Hard to tell just how loud this was in a room full of hardware but it sure looked pretty !

No expense was spared at the Nvidia function room with all the highest end hardware running in SLI mode attached to the largest Dell 30 inch monitors currently available. I am personally a big fan of SLI and if you want to game at insanely high resolutions it is the wise option to take !

They also had a large selection of PDA and mobile phone NV powered solutions on display.

Above you can see some images of High Definition video clips powered by Nvidia solutions, unfortunately the only way to experience the quality of the images on screen is to actually be there in person as the digital camera shots in no way do them justice, they were incredible!

It is safe to say we had a good time at the Nvidia booth, and hopefully later this week we shall have our GX2 review published, instead of rushing the product review to match NDA breaking, we have decided to spend much longer testing the hardware to give a more indepth and accurate analysis.
