Opera Help!
Well, my love has forsaken me. For the past three or four days, every time I close Opera, my comp crashes. It starts as a freeze, I can still move my mouse. Next, the mouse stops (after 10 seconds or so) and the system hangs untill I restart it. It so far only happens in Opera, not FF or Explorer (or any other apps). It only happens when I close it, on two different modems. I've tried all the standard stuff, completely uninstalled and reinstalled, its still a no go. Anyone have suggestions.
I'm back to using FF, and I can't stand it.
(side question, how the hell do you force FF to open new sites in a different tab, its driving me insane!)

What version of Opera is it?
The only problem I have with Opera is that if you select "Open in new window" and it starts another instance of Opera and you close your "original" Opera window it loses all the tabs you had open in the original one when you close the "original" instance while the new window is still open.
I use tabs as temporary bookmarks so sometimes it's critically annoying.

Yeah, a few times, even cleared all traces of it and got rid of all remaining registry keys.
I spend most of yesterday trying to figure out what the hell is going on with it. Still only happens in Opera (8.5 and 8.5.1). I may try an older version and see if that fixes it. I set up FF to act like Opera, and it still sucks ass, I want my Opera.
I've been searching around and found a few people with similar problems, so at least I'm not alone. I have a feeling its to do with recent updates or something, cause it just started happening.
This weekend, if all is not fixed, I'm going to reformat (its due anyway).

If you have different partitions/drives, remove all traces of the existing install and install to a different partition. I looked around the opera.com/support community forums and unfortunately couldn't find any relevant info. Weird problem viking
Fortunately, if you have to go back to 8 or 8.01, there's not a whole lot of difference.

Good point, I wonder if it has something to do with the other logons at home. Tonight I have to go looking around my wifes logon and get rid of the Opera stuff there, and reinstall.
