which drivers are best for MX518

Hi all! I heared allot about drivers lately so I thought I ask the pros out here what to do.
I finally get my MX518 tomorrow *woot*

So which drivers are best to install?

The set point drivers that come with the mouse?

Or razer drivers, I heared you can use razer drivers for logitech MX mouses also, if any1 can explain and give me links I"d really appreciate it. If I could use the razer drivers to lower my up down speed for my mouse, that would be cheating right (lowering your up down makes headshots easyer in most games, it is restricted ingame, but not outgame) ^^

Plz explain this to me, thx!

Personally I would use the the logitech drivers for your mouse, yes it is true that you can modify a file and use the razor drivers for logitech mice but it's nothing special, if you want you can change these things in your registry if you really want too. There is also another great program out that's called "USB Mouserate Switcher" Some people actually just leave the default software from microsoft as their drivers and find that it fits their needs, but it all depends on the user.

Mouserate Switcher lets you enforce a mouse polling rate of 250 Hz (4 ms), 500 Hz (2 ms) or 1000 Hz (1 ms) and lets you restore Windows' original "usbport.sys" (8 ms) if needed. Make sure you do this in safemode.

Peace

Hey thx, I got a little question about the mouserate switcher, I used the 1000 Hz polling rate, but my mouse its Hz is swinging somewhere between 500 and 1000 and it is never constant, should I lower it to 500 Hz to get it more constant or not? I use this mouse for pure gaming purposes so I need to know whats best ^^

Thx allot!

You can turn it down to 500 and see what it yields for you, of course. I have the mx510 and the 1000 works great for me, I am also an avid game player. But you can play around and see what works best.

Peace

???

Damage, How exactly would one go about using the Razer drivers? Ive scoured google and this website with no luck in finding any information other than reviews of mice and their drivers. Thanks a million man. -Chris

edit: I have a mx510 and Im running Windows XP PRO (non64).
