autopatcher updated 317 components in my system, most were small fixes, but I enjoyed the performance increase. I recommend it to anyone.

I backed up my windows xp Pro install last night and installed the Autopatcher December 2003 version. It took about 10 mins total. It installs a bunch of programs but you do have a choice of what you want to install. I personally opted out of the messenger updates. I so dislike windows/msn messenger popping up and running on its own.
I did not notice a performance increase but that doens't mean it isn't there. Windows does seem to boot up faster. The Power Toys programs are really nice. The Switcher (What you see when you do an Alt-Tab) is absolutely cool. It has a preview window of what it is you will be alt tabbing to. I had my capture card going and I could see that in the preview window. The calculator is very feature rich now.
I am not so sure about the Bootvis program though. It optimizes your system for you by defragging and etc but I do not like it. I use Partition Magic which does the job so much better. It is nice to have all of those windows fixes though.

I created a Restore point on my XP Home machine and commenced to use the AutoInstaller for the XP SP2 I downloaded.
I had previously installed the IE6beta 2055 version. Now this XP SP2 beta gives me a warning that I have already installed 'newer' files and that if I proceed some things may not work right.
Anyone gone through this?
