Default Post Kazaa Lite

every since i upgraded kazaa lite to v2.0 it consumes pc processing power. when i check the task manager it is at 50%+ and i know a p2p shouldnt take that much power... anyone know how to fix this?

uninstall the damn thing, it's just spyware.
BUT.... if you must persist in using it try turning off the supernode function.
Go to Tools->Options->Advanced uncheck the the box, or check it I dont' remember I haven't used that thing in over a year. Just be warned it's doing a lot of stuff behind your back try reading the EULA sometime there's a lot of secrets in Kazaa.

Well, the problem is not KaZaA Lite, but the network it uses to logon. KaZaA force the software (remotely) to install files you don't want and/or opens up IE windows with pages using such cons. But really KaZaA 2.0 has really nothing more to offer (that is exciting enough to say it's worth downloading it instead of participating in a threesome).

Imesh is total rank takes ages to connect to its servers and when you do it disconnects again hence a total waste of time

Use DietKazaa (www.dietk.com) - it blocks all ads etc.
Works with Kazaa 2.0 too (not good, but better than without it).
Soon will version for Kazaa 2 be available.

hhhmmmm my kazaa lite dosen't display this behaviour in the slightest! Never seen an advert using it? The Speedup function is the main reason I use it, allows me to make the most of my download speeds, I haven't had 130k+ out of any other P2P client yet!

EDonky seems better than Kazaa, well for big files anyway but i supose Kazaa Lite is quite decent for smaller files

I've been using Kazaalite 2.1 and so far no problems at all - no ads have popped up, I haven't loaded a single byte of info I didn't specifically ask for. It sucks resources a lot, but then again I normally have around 30 downloads going at the same time when im downloading...

ToshiroOC

*I love my new broadband connection, total of 250KB/s (2000kbps), so much better than my old AOL dialup its not even funny. I used to rejoice at 3.5KB/s if it lasted more than ten minutes...

Edonkey doesn't seem to have the user base that Kazaa has, although there are some good files to be found.

Try limiting the number of files you have in your queue. If you have more than a dozen, the non-stop looking for sources degrades your performance in other apps. Besides that, have kazaa "close" to tray, don't have it the taskbar because it uses more resources that way (don't know why, it's just badly written piece of software). Using dietk improves your speed and kills ads. It didn't find it to be particular useful in what regards system performance. Kazaa is just bad software... I couldn't care less about the user base, the amount of fake stuff floating around the network is frightening...

my kazzaa also behaves like this, i don't use it anymore because of this reason. do you share files or use the media tracker because it might be indexing files that is causing problem.

Kazaa Lite works super-fine for me, the only problem i notice is that it's a bandwidth hog whenever i use it, even if i'm only downloading something slow like 10KB/s or something

EDIT by ToshiroOC:

_leech_, welcome to DH.. and if you double post in the future, there is a delete option in the edit window

You have been officially boinked by the anti-spam-modding-stick

If you still have problems...

Try changing the priority of kazaa. It worked for me (emule did the same for me)

I use Kazaa Lite 2.0 and I don't have any problems with processor usage, but I do have problems with eMule it's sucking power like hell, so I deleted it it's better be without p2p program.
