UXtheme.dll patch for sp1 1106 (final) Help PLS..
I've got windows xp pro, with sp1 1106 installed. Now i would like to patch the UXtheme.dll
with the version so i can use the style-xp skins. But i dont have a clue how i have to do this. All the automatic patcher dont work because of sp1, they say there is only support for build 2600. Can somebody plz help me with this, step by step. Thank u very much.

Boot into Safe Mode, then copy & paste the uxtheme.dll file in the x:/windows/system32 dir ('x' being your drive letter), when asked if you want to replace the file select yes then restart your computer. All done.

came across this on another site its a self extracting file that does all the work ( apparently doesnt work on OEM versions of XP though )

Replacing in \system32 by itself will not work, I should know I made the patch. In whatever mode you want, just delete uxtheme.dll from \system32\dllcache and replace it with the patched file, RENAME \system32\uxtheme.dll to uxtheme.old and reboot. Windows will take care of the rest.
