Is CPUidle any good?
Hey, does anyone use CPUidle? And is it worth getting?

its good if you don't have windows xp... otherwise, its useless because winxp has something similar hardcoded into the operating system

Oh, one other thing... They say it will enable some "special" features of CPU's that are usually disabled. Is this BS, and if not are those features even useful?

i tried it with win 98 before and it slows down my pc. It claims that it won't do that. I tried runing a freshly unzipped Rivatuner, which will extract the database. The extraction became really slow with cpuidle in the background.

What settings are you using in CPU Idle and what's your chipset/cpu? If you keep having difficulties, I'd suggest using VCool 1.8 Beta 8. I seems more efficient than CPU Idle, but both of them do a great job when you get them to work perfectly.

winxp doesn't need any of these. it automatically does what these programs do. these programs don't affect xp

are you sure? cuz i have this buddy who's an extreme overclocker and he uses cpuidle in xp and claims to notice a difference...

So does that mean all NT-based OS'es do not need these types of programs?
(cuz I might be getting Win2000 soon)
