Pissed MSN Messenger

Hi.

This problem has been bugging me for quite some time. I use MSN 6.1 and you'll notice that it works independantly and is not an update to the version which comes with WindowsXP. Therefore I have two version of MSN Messenger on my PC. When I open OE It automatically opens the OLD version of MSN Messenger and tries to log in while I have MSN 6.1 logged in - causing problems!

I'd like to know how to remove this copy of MSN (OLD).

Thanks.

Make sure you are signed outta messenger and hit ok after you paste that script into the run box.
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

What I have done to fix that issue on my system was to rename both the messenger folder and the exe file inside the messenger folder

NOTE: Not the MSN Messenger Folder

if i do that exctly how you quoted,it's not going to effect msn 6.1 i presume correctly. just want to know before doing so.

What I posted takes the windows messenger outta ya system, not msn messenger....after it does what it has to ,when starting msn 6.1 up itll look like its reinstalling it(msn 6.1) then itll log in and ya done...possible reboot but not always after uninstall of windows messenger
