ATI Multimedia Center - edit recording menu: programmer's help wanted!

Hey everybody,

I am new to programming except some very basic ideas about the process- vs. object-oriented languages and some basic experience with Hex-editor and .dll-viewer/dis-assembler.

What I want to do: ATIs MMC 9.16 on start of a new recording gives the duration in the recording-panel ALWAYS as "30 min", although in every available and relevant setting I set the time to "10 hrs". Could anyone point me to the place in a .dll-file, where I could change the relevant entry?
Also of where to be careful, i.e. dependencies or similar?

Would be great! I tried ATI through support-ticket, but the only answer they gave me, was to change the recording-duration manually. I have got a software that would - in coop with a German EPG - control MMC (and did previous versions to a tee!), but this 9.16 bug does not allow the recording to be finished, if one does not change manually.... (ATI's discontinued All-in-Wonder, as most of you know probably, so I don't see any problem trying my hand...)

Alternatively perhabs there is a dedicated forum somewhere for poeple like me? To ask and learn...

The AiW forum or perhaps the coding forum. I wouldn't say its going to be possible to do this... you don't know for sure which DLL will contain that, if at all. Might even be in the EXE.
