exclamation Ares 2.0.2 & Bitdefender 8 Free Edition

Hi guys & girls.

I have been a user of Ares which is a shareware program for download files for nearly a year now and I have never had any problems with viruses. However I recently changed my Anti-virus and I started using Bitdefender 8 free edition and it is reporting Ares.exe as a "Generic.Malware.SFN!prng.4F25E0A8"

I don't know whether if its to do with the 2.0 version of Ares or whether Bitdefender is falsely identifying it as malware.

Can anyone please shed some light on this for me

Kind regards, Nick.

Furthermore to this, Ares introduced the windows media player 11 skin with 2.0. bitdefender is reporting the cache of ares, start menu folder and the ares.exe as malware.

Bitdefender managed to heal the "ares.exe" by completely deleting the skin, however the rest is still there and can't be disinfected.

generic.malware probably means bitdefender doesn't like something it's doing...not that it's registered as a known virus.

It may be polling the memory/cache to often, or it may be pulling data/writing data to the system folder or registry or something?

I dunno...bit torrent is an odd fish that I never bothered learning much about the clients on after I discovered I wasn't a fan of the architecture as a whole
