My Macs running Hot

Is this normal for a mac to run hot, as my imac does it aswell as my apple tv it seams to me squashing it all into one screen kinda makes no room for some decent cooling. But is it Normal ???

Re: My Macs running Hot

computers are designed to run hot

the old G5 iMacs I used at school used to do a good job at heating the room, though without the specs of your system (whether PPC or Intel) there's nothing to tell us how hot your system should be running....

Download MenuMeters, install it, and set it to show you CPU temps (among other things) - you might just need to do a little dusting with a can of compressed air

right now my Mac Pro is sitting on 20C, with the intake fan grill caked with dust.... really need to clean it soon

When you say "hot" are you just judging the heat by putting your hand on the chassis or are you measuring it ?

Mac apps and Dashboard Widgets by iSlayer

Install istat menus or istat pro and post some temperatures of the figures you are getting.
