It comes down to personal opinion and usage type I think. For ligher TV users the Winamp plugin works good (I tried it and it worked OK for me, I just don't like Winamp much). BeyondTV demo is working nicely for me and its more geared to people who watch more TV

Linky
Their company website seems to be having some trouble at the moment, but ill give you the link anyway.
http://www.intervideo.com

I actually bought my copy at compusa. =) but try the demo version and see how you like it. The only thing you'd have to live without is the remote control, but i think its worth the trade off and having working tv and capture capabilites.

So far the demo seems to be working well.

Though I'm tired of trying out 1021247 different TV programs just to find one that works, so tired infact I just use my old TV to watch TV or I just stop watching TV

I have owned an ATI AIW 9600pro scince 2003,and before that a AIW7500.And I never had problems up until the cat5.3 after that it seems as though ATI is going downhill in there software. They are not giving us choises anymore, when i update drivers i have more problems than things fixed and performance increases. Now with MMC9.13 they have taken more opitons from us(no more pause in recording or tv on demand always on).I guess i will stick with MMC9.6 and keep my old 9600 and hold off going to PCIE until i see something more than what ATI has been doing for the last year.

CJLMTLCA has a spectacular aura aboutCJLMTLCA has a spectacular aura aboutCJLMTLCA has a spectacular aura about
System Specs

I upgraded my TV Wonder Pro to a TV Wonder Elite and I can tell you that the quality is much better.
Colours are vibrant, text is sharp, blacks are deep, all around picture is sharper... Of course it
depends on the channel.
I also swapped my Audigy 2 ZS for a X-Fi Fatal1ty. Creative have done a good job with the software.
All the apps have been brought together, and you have full control over what is off and on. There
are still some aspects to nit-pick about (eye-candy anim when switching modes), and if you don't
like CCC then you won't like the Audio Console, but in general it's streamlined and easy to use,
and it works!

So I decided to try 9.13 again, what a mistake! (actualy no more choice now with the Elite card)
I should have stayed with Pro and 9.08. I hope ATI have plans to update MMC at regular intervals
and actualy improve things and give full control to the user. There's a reason why Bill Gates
called it MY computer... Because it's MY computer and *I* will be the judge of how to use it.

Too bad, great hardware.

There are no direct access buttons for the inputs.
Video On Demand always on, however I think I managed to turn it off (controls at the bottom don't
work) but I still hear the HD working when TV is running. Can't find any traces of a file created.
No pause while recording.
Once on another input, can't get back to TV. Select T550 as input and get no signal. Have to reload.
'NOW' button doesn't work in GP+. ATI need to dump this and maybe do a EPG in-house and streamline
it with everything else in MMC.
GP+ doesn't have preview window anymore (I guess it was a 'quick-fix' to support T550, sad).
Jitter, popping, delay when changing channel. Are we in the 21st century???
TV pops up while you're looking through the tv guide, click GP+ to bring it to front, wait a couple
of seconds, TV pops up, how annoying.
Can't enter channel name anymore.
Sound popping and graphic glitches while downloading. (This could be my system, but is better than
TVWPro and Audigy2ZS was. Right now I have X800, XFI, and Elite sharing IRQs with other things,
so i don't know if that's the cause. I'll be doing some hardware reconfiguring and windows
re-installation on the weekend and will try and fix those IRQs. Some games have jolting too, but
sound in general is ok.)
I can get total sound cut out for about 6 seconds, then returning. Sometimes it will be a blast of
loud static for a few seconds (almost crap my pants) and again return to normal.
Can't schedule any recordings with GP+. I have scheduler running at startup, but nothing records.
Tried leaving TV on, GP+ open... FA... WTH? There is nothing to tell you that something is
scheduled (other than looking it up in the GP+ gui). Every app that you install slams some stupid
system tray app behind your back, but now the one time I would like to have one... noooooooo...
Why not have a small icon that shows you have something scheduled? And if you hover over it, a
small window can open and show a green check for shows that have been recorded, a yellow check
for shows that are in the process of being recorded and a red check for shows that will be
recorded with maybe small text to show channel and time info? Hello???
One positive is I no longer have an echo when recording. (no more audio out cable?)

A while back I tried some tv apps, I'm sure most have been updated since, but found them to be
too i'm-a-dell-using-granpa-and-need-a-windows-media-center-interface-so-i-won't-need-to-buy-one-
of-those-"for-dummy's"-books. I don't think so. Some couldn't even set a different drive for
video recording... are we in 2006??? Whatever.

Computer! Return blood pressure to 110 over 80

Beep. Blood pressure is now 110 over 80

I just installed the 9.13's for my HDTVWonder card. Was using the 9.08's with moderate success. The 9.13's are really terrible. Picture quality seems to be about the same but there is now a stuttering maybe every 10 or 15 seconds. If I right click the display to get the setup menu up the program freezes and shuts down back to the desktop. The whole thing seems very unstable. Reverted back to the 9.08's. Wow, very surprised that drivers from ATI could be so unstable and buggy.

I know I'm a little late in responding but I just tried them out to see if some of the *quirks* had been ironed out. Seems ATI *added* a few new ones in the 9.13's

I find that driver issue are just par for the course, it's not just Ati..lots of hardware has driver issues...When I install a new piece of hardware and it goes in EXACTLY like it supposed I am actually surprised because it never happens. Driver usually always take some finesse to get installed. Most of use here are not "newbies" we know thats how it is..I just feel bad for the guys that can't get their hardware to function no matter what drivers they install..that is really sad.

NO, that's what I mean..It's unfortunate that you have a piece of hardware that you can't get working now matter what driver you use..I think I would give it 2 days of work and if I still couldn't get a device to work I would return it. Then again sometimes it's not the device but the specific configuration. Like some guys bought AIW and never had it working? I would send it back..

Too late now. It worked at the beginning but then the world around ATI changed (new framework, driver models etc) and then ATI forgot to change with it I guess

I know how to fix that issue!! what you have to do is turn of TV on Demand. Also when you do this your TV will return to 480i instead of (if you look) it's much less. I too got this lag until I turned off the TVon demand. You need to do this in the registry. if you need more help with this post back.

I am wondering the same thing, Maybe this new one will work as it should?! I doubt it though...IF I was them I would go and read all the forums of what guys like and what they don't etc..then design a product with the end user in mind...

Umm... I have been. For quite a long time. Like all the other people here.

I think we've been WAY more than patient considering the drastic nature of the situation.

I just hope all this time we've waited they scrapped the old one and made a whole new application and then they're just waiting to unleash it and all will be made right

OH we could only hope. Although I haven't had all that many errors I do relaize the application leaves alot to be desired. I also see the amount of people who have been having errors when trying to do seemingly simple tasks. NEver know maybe ATI will unleash a nice new MMC that's not based on the old code...
