MMC 9.13 released - Discuss and vote

my only complaint about 9.13 is that the tv tuner runs in a seperate window rather than in gemstars little tv tuner box when using guide+... other than that I dont have much a problem with it verse older problems... im running it with the current dhz betas even. The two things I ve never understood, is why doesnt gemstar have scalable fonts? I Have a 27" LCD I run in 1280x720... those fonts are way tiny. Also, why can't I soap my live broadcasts... I have analog cable and there isnt even sharpness conrols, let alone filters. If any one can enlighten me if there is a reason these arent addressed....

Funny thing is, in media layer classic there are all kinds of filters and options, same with DScaler. It is strange to me that the software made specifically for the hardware has a lot fewer options, and doesn't work as well.

I have Theater550 + nVidia 6600 (w/ PureVideo Decoder).
MMC's video left interlaced.

I also tried Cyberlink MPEG2 decoder, but still not working.

i'm going to need this fixed fairly shortly.... soon my computer is going to be solely for tv and console connections..... i won't have an alternative at all.

and i'm going to be using a ATI AIW to be as my show room main machine providing content...

New MMC and Cat 6.1's

Three days now and so far only the remote software crashed once, did not lock up the PC and a regular reboot fixed it. I also got brave and installed the 6.1 CCC and it seems fine as well.

Really? When i load GP+ i still get the tv in the top-left corner insert. hmm.

All: What happened to that option to enable some kind of hardware render to improve picture quality? I think it was in the tuner tab?

Yeah I'd love to be able to use this so I don't habe to buy a TV for my basement just to be able to get some N64 done.

well i don't own a tv myself.. and soon i'll be most likely moving.... and all i'll have is 2 monitors..... one of which is garbage lol..... 2 computers.. one of which is my server.... and media center....

cloths/bed/not really any appliances.... desks.... and that's about it...

My "Picture" tab on the settings portion of the TV program...is empty aside from a button labelled 'Reset'

WTF can i reset, and how do i set it to begin with?

ROFL!

Sorry I had to laugh.... I think its the image capture portion of the program and unless you install the Still Image component of MMC it won't work

Actually thats the controls for brghtness saturation contrast and gamma... they work fine for me

I'm sticking with ChrisTV Lite for now....meh.

It deinterlaces properly too, which si more then i can say for MMC...my god...everything looks hairy it's so bad

The one good thing about this release is the support for the theatre 550 chips. but I have to give up my 5.1 speakers settings for it? I don't think so. Now that I am used to the cyberlink full version, they (ATI) missed out bigtime with this program. they had it right with the old version on the old hardware (tvwonder, old radeons and all in wonders) why couldn't they port the features from the old mmc to the new hardware? in theory it sounds pretty easy, but then I am no programer so I don't know for sure.

in responce to billium's post about the update freqency of mmc, I am of the opinion that if it aint broke, don't fix it. and the old mmc wasn't broke except for the theatre 550 chips and the aiw's that use that chip

I may take a deep breath and do the 6.1 CCC - MMC9.13 thing next week or so (yes the 9.13 MMC is the new ATI recommendation for my TV Wonder PCI tuner...) just to see what happens (and you can bet I'm setting a System Restore point first too - if not a full backup...).

imo... things have been royally broken for years... it just has been getting worse... the moment ati released a digital audio version the problems really tipped the scales.... very nasty....

I'm all for true digital audio, but something much be done, it's hogging up a pile of clock cycles and or bandwidth or something, if you so much as do anything while the tv is running, simple as say scrolling down this very thread.... the tv skips and chirps and loses total sync audio wise... Forcing you to restart it..

Before, i could run UT2004 WHILE TV was running on the tv as a 2ndary monitor..... flawlessly.... forcing UT2004 to one audio device.. and the TV to the other.... no problems....no audio related lag. hell smooth as silk... at the time i didn't even have a loaded machine.... so recording at the same time was an issue...

that link appears to point to software for the PixelView TV tuners, actually...they need somethign that supports a wide range of chips, like BeyondTV or ChrisTV or DScaler

I'm just happy I just formated because some reason before that my power vcr 2 didn't work I had runtime error mode on it. But now it works

I'm happy I can watch tv on my pc again.
