Necessary files for TV Wonder to work

In order to get the TV Wonder PCI working properly in WindowsXP Service Pack 2, you'll need the following files installed in the order presented. Exit all unneeded backround programs first before performing the file installations.

Get and install the latest chipset drivers for your mainboard.
Then...

From Microsoft: install these only if you don't already have them...
DirectX 9.0c http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
Windows Media Encoder 9 Series http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...r/default.aspx
.Net Framework 1.1 (needed for some versions of ATI official or ATI modded video driversets)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Now...
---Install your choice of official or modded video card driverset here---
Then...

From ATI:
Sorry, no individual file links here, go to www.ati.com, select Drivers and Software from the top bar, select Windows XP Drivers and Software within the list, then select TV Tuners from the list, then select your particular tuner from the list - be careful here - the name is very specific (use the name under the title for each tuner type).
---Read those release notes!---
DAO/MDAC
ATI TV Wonder Drivers (this should be or include the WDM...)
Multimedia Center Software (generally requires uninstalling the previous version...)

This list is for the TV Wonder PCI, which is what I'm running, but the file order and types should be similar for all internal PCI slot tuners.

Hope this helps, especially those new to updating or wanting to install the latest files during a scratch install of XP rather than using the older files off the CD that came with your tuner. Works for me...
