ATI HDTV Wonder or equivalent
This fabulous tuner was brought to my attention, thanks to PJ.
I'm looking for a good price/performance tuner, especially on analog. The HDTV Wonder was said to do a great job, but I would like to know if there's any other equivalents out there.

Not really.... Theres pretty much just the ATI'd hdtv wonder.... HDTV is alot more clear then your basic TV and you can really see it on your PC.
Unless you don't want hdtv and just a plain TV tuner then there all kinds of cards but i've only used the "ATI TV wonder VE" myself....

even for basic TV, the hdtv wonder gets one amazingly clean picture.
What did you think of the TV Wonder VE, Neon, all i've used other then this HDTV Wonder is a Hauppage WinTV, which was a headache mounted via PCI |

You can see th qauilty less on the TV. On the PC even a little change is noticeable.I loved the fact you can watch it on any pc on your network with the ATI software. Also the view thew desktop is sweete... watch something thing windowed or full screen or even tranparetly while you work! the transparent thing is way cool... full screen or large window i gets greany but thats the TV signal / quilty at work. Windowed it was crisp and clear at a decent size.... I'd love to have an HDTV card

my HD card is running off of standard 70 channel comcast cable, and at any distance beyond about 3 feet, it looks great even at 1600x1200 full screen.
sitting in the chair a 'medium' window int ransparency up towards the corner is the way to go ![]() and as for graininess, the ATi software does an EXCELLENT job of smoothing it out |
