What Happened to the "PAUSE" option in MMC 8.9?
Since upgrading my MMC to 8.9 I no longer have an option to PAUSE a capture.
To me, this really is unacceptable. Is there anyway to restore it without reverting to an earlier version?

Isn't anyone else using this?
If so, do you have a PAUSE option on the Interface for it? I don't.

Sorry, I haven't gotten that version yet. Is there any big improvement in that one, to use it over an older version?

So far, I've found it to work very well. Although I haven't actually done a whole lot since upgrading other than capture some of my gaming activities. It does seem to offer more Codecs than the previous versions.
The main reason I like the Pause button on the interface is so I can stop and start a capture without having to create individual files. This is really a very, very important item to me.

Pause in Record function
Just successfully paused the recording in my MMC 8.9.
It appears in the Record panel to the right of the Camera button on the lower left are of the record panel.
(Confusing, but as accurate as I can describe it). Are you confusing the TV-ON-DEMAND pause with Recording?

Update:
I have tried to reinstall using the Repair function. Have rebooted the computer and still there is no Pause 'button' in the Interface.
To clarify, this is on my Windows 98SE machine using the 64 DDR VIVO. It's the Video In capturing program.
UPDATE 2: I have just tried to install MMC 8.9 once again from within Safemode. I used the Modify option this time and selected all the defaults. Rebooted and STILL no Pause button.

UPDATED:
I have finally resolved it. Here's how:
I completely uninstalled MMC 8.9 once again. Ran a Registry Cleaner. It only found one obsolete key in all and I deleted it. It didn't look like it had anything to do with MMC, but, it was the only one so I deleted it.
I rebooted and then proceeded to install MMC 8.9 once again. THIS time, I elected to NOT choose the EasyLook app. I totally unchecked the option under the Custom selections.
Installed MMC 8.9 and followed the prompt to reboot again.
THIS time, the Pause button is where it belongs. (Sigh of relief....)
So, this begs the question: Does EasyLook have anything that could cause a problem on systems where there's no remote control device for the video capture card? (Or anything else?) I'm using this on my 98SE machine with the 64 DDR VIVO.

Do you have the resources to test this out on a fresh install of Windows? Maybe create a temporary partition, and try it there for a few days?

Maybe.
I've been creating several video files and will need to back up things first.
At present, I do have more important things to tend to, though.

Anyone else have this problem?
I've tried completely uninstalling the app, using a Registry Cleaner to remove obsolete keys, rebooted, run the Registry Cleaner once again, rebooted.
Then I've reinstalled the MMC 8.9 and still don't get the Pause button back.
I suspect there's a Registry key somewhere that can turn this on, but, don't really know where to begin looking.

I successfully reproduced the described problem.
I played with the differents codecs and I found the way to make it desapear. With ATI vcr and mpeg1, I have the button but with the avi codecs, I doesn't (didn't tried mpeg2).
So, I suggest to experiment with the codecs...
