tv tuner cards + ps2
guys i think im getting a PS 2 FINALLY for christmas god! and im wondering i have no tv in my room but i got my comp here pretty hefty thing. and was wondering if a PS 2 will work well with any ATI tv tuner card.... im forgetting which one is top of the line tv wonder pro? im not sure i dont pay attention. im not sure if the card has a/v in/out jacks and if it does if i hook up a ps2 to it will i get really clean quality? i know rf works but rf isnt that great. and then i could also reroute the sound through my audigy 2!!!!! omfg then true 5.1 surround!

I don't see any problems using a TV tuner card with your PS2. If you are just interested in a card for the PS2 I would go for something from Haupage or Leadtech. They are both good quality cards and the software with them is more stable than ATI's MMC. I assume also the PS2 has an s-video out so when you choose a TV card make sure it has an s-video in.

The ATI card looks like it has all the features you would need including s-video in. I would still go for some other brand though just for the price difference. This is a local store where I live. The prices aren't the best but it gives you an idea about the difference in price between the different manufacturers. I have the Leadtek 2000 deluxe and I love it. Before I had an AIW radeon and it gave me nothing but problems. Half the time I couldn't record anything.
edit: The Leadtek card comes with a remote control as well as being bundled with PowerDVD software.

You can definitely use it on your PC if you have any composite or Svideo Ins, but for the best quality and highest resolution you need the PS2 to VGA adapter. Check it out

then you would need an optical input on your computer unless you hook it up to a seperate sound system, then you'd hook it up to the receiver.
