Hardware assist for avivo encoder?

Ive read around and never found a confirmation that its used. So I take it that it will never come? I mean it was promised waaay back 5.xx drivers.

The AVIVO video converter is not GPU accelerated (only CPU is used). Maybe ATI will change this sometime in the future...

From what I understood, AVIVO would use any X1800 or better card to assist in video rendering. Not having such hardware I cannot test this claim.

I haven't really heard much from that since the X1800's came out. Perhaps like the AiW's, the tool died out.
