No sound from Motherboard SPDIF

For a live recording I need 6 mono input through my Audigy 2 card into a recording program using ASIO. I am only using ProFx and so far I have managed to utilize the 4 input from the Audigy card. The remaining 2 was supposed to come from the motherboard audio circuit through the motherboard SPDIF output and into the Audigy card using the CD-SPDIF input.
But I do not get any sound from the CD-SPDIF input. When sound "arrives" to the motherboard input, a square icon from the Kx enviroment is visible in the lover right corner of my screen for a couple of seconds.
To me it indicates that the Audigy 2 card receives audio from the Motherboard SPDIF output.
So the big question: what have I missed in the setup, or does the SPDIF icon have another meaning.

Thanx in advance.

Well assuming you understand you need to use ProFx/Src - to get access to the digital CD SPDIF... I can only speculate there are level issues - or maybe the onboard sound isnt outputting correctly ??

Maybe more details on your setup - pic of your DSP setup maybe?? And post the help about info (for KX version card model) - maybe theres a known issue with your card model.. ??

System Specs

with your onboard sound CP

disable any ac-3/dolby encoding

also make sure any input to the motherboard is being sent straight to the outputs, and enable digital output only (if such a mode exists)

Follow up on No Sound

First of all thanx Maddog & Dj_Stick for some quick suggestions. Unfortunuately they didn't help. But please read on - -

The setup is: Audigy 2 (SB0350) Win XP SP2 and kX3538L Motherboard MSI PM8M-V.

Even though I was pretty close running the various suggestions by Maddog and Dj_Stick, the small adjustment primarily to the MSI onboard sound system did not bring any sound.
With only a few days left before the recording session I called in plan B.

I managed to get access to a SBLive! h/w rev 0060 and installed that into the PC. After some minor hassel with manual update of the driver for the SBLive! ( XP assigned default Microsoft/Creative ) I was ready to prepare the SBLive! card.
I just cleared the DSP area, assigned ProFx-ADC and k1lt. Then I mad the connections from ADC to k1lt-SPDIF out.

And VOILA sound from the SBlive! through the Audigy.

So obviously my problems are related to the onboard sound system.

The only thing left now is the kX-SPDIF ikon displayed in the lower right corner of my terminal when running sound test on the onboard sound device, and I only see it when trying the Audigy / MSI combination. It never shows up when I utilize the Audigy and SBLive! combination.
Any ideas.

Once again thankyou for your quick response.

Best Regards
Frost

Ok - I also have an SB350 - and can say KX CAN use the SPDIF -
What your describing - using ADC - will ONLY access AC97 ANALOG inputs - NOT spdif - for Digital CD input you need to add a ProFx SRC and set its tweak screen drop down to 'Digital CD SPDIF input' (or how ever its labeled - don't confuse the ADC ANALOG cd input with the DIGITAL CD input).

Do you see levels with a 'peak' plugin connected to the SRC now?
