AIW x800 XL FM RADIO and TV CAPTURE will not work

Hey All,

I'm very disapointed with ATI drivers. First I had Windows VISTA RC1, tried to install drivers for vista rc1 from ATI webpage. TV and RADIO wont work. Then after smashing my head against the wall for a week, decided to go back to XP professional SP2.

Fresh instalation of Windows XP profession SP2......

SO, I followed instructions www.ati.com/install one by one. First catalyst (downloaded from the instalation page (last version)) then multimedia center ( as they say ).

At the end, TV still doenst work and RADIO too. when Use tv option in ATI multimedia center it says. " THE TV FAILED TO INITIALIZE ", the radio: only opens splash screen and nothing happens.

I wasted 3 days trying to make this work. I read thousands and thousands of forums.
I dont know if it is something about WDM files. But catalyst should installl them!!!

--------------
when i tried Omega Drivers Lastest version. This guy in the device manager ATI T200 UNIFIED AVSTREAM DRIVER, says cannot initialize code 10.
-----------------
When I try regular drivers from ati web page, this error does not happen but the tv doenst work too.

please if someone could help with this card, never made it work with TV before.

Thank you

COMPUTER

MOTHERBOARD: DFI LANPARTY ULTRA D
VIDEO : ATI ALL IN WONDER X800 XL
MEMORY : 1G G.SKILL DDR 550

What about your motherboard drivers. I had a issue with my GFX cards a while back and updated my chipset drivers and fixed everything. Worth a try.

When I got your suggestion, I went to DFI website.
I updated all generic drivers, some were the same version as the one I already have.
well, didnt change. Im still researching..
I found out that some AIW, when you install the Catalyst Control Center, it should install some WDM stuff in the device manager. Under games, sounds. That doenst happen with mine, it only installs ATI T200 Unified AVStream driver.
I couldn't find if I need more than this one for the system to work fine.

I also installed DotNEt FrameWork 2.0, I was reading something about lastest version of Catalyst needing that.

Hope someone give me some light! please!

You know what!? I did that, but I did that when I had Windows Vista !!!
I was reading these threads again and the I remenber that I did not try the cd that came up with the card after installing WinXP.
I just did that and everything is working.
Apologize for that.

Now I'm getting into another fight! IMAGE QUALITY
any idea some good site about that ? Some more information?

Its like this: You can have it work with crap image quality or have it not work with good image quality

If you want to try alternative TV viewing programs you may look at programs such as VideoLAN, BeyondTV, MythTV (if you're knowledgeable in Linux areas).
