nevermind, i talked to a F@H'er and he explained it to me, it depends on how big the work unit is. mine are 53% done.

Folding my nads off. Got 2 PC's running it. Can we have a folding against the environment face off LOL. I discovered a cure but my PC was running 24/7 so ive increased my carbon footprint and wiped out a continent. It's becoming increasingly difficult to do the right thing

I've been running the CPU version 24hrs straight now, and it still says THIS:
Date of last work unit None Total score 0 Overall rank (if points are combined) 585263 of 585263 Active processors (within 50 days) 0 Active processors (within 7 days) 0
That begs the question: does it need to be running in display mode to work, or will it fold while being shown in the desktop taskbar only?

Actually your name is on the ATI team list on THIS page, and THIS is your specific stats.
Also, DHBrian is on the list now too. Can't figure out why. I'm going to try running the console version to see if that makes a difference.

it needs to complete a WU before it will send the information. A work unit can take a few days depending on the size of the unit. Mine has been going for 30 hours and still not done (66%). It generally takes a few hours after the unit is finish for your stats to start showing up.

Gotcha. That's pretty much what I thought too.
I have found that that console version is running much better than the GUI CPU version as well (can't run the GPU version obvsiously). One option allows you to run and assign mulitple instances of it to run on the same machine if that machine has more than one CPU (which my server at the store does) by way of SMP. Just run each one in a sperate folder, assign a seperate ID for each CPU and folder, and viola. Gonna set it up on my dual core, dual CPU Xeon server at work tomorrow, and see what kind of run I get out of it.

Joined the team as DH_IvanV. ATi and DH really deserve credit for supporting this research, I didn't even know about the project until I read about it on DH last night.

if this means anything, it says something like 1.6s/frame
so actually looking at it,
looks like i have 25,000 frames to do to complete a WU.
so 25,000framesx1.6s/frame=40,000 seconds
40,000/60=666.67 minutes/60=11.11 hours per WU? Looks within reasonably accurate to me... off about 40 minutes?

Wow, it does take a while, got one (or 500?) unit done last night, also had the lappy running it. Again, how do you get it to run dual core? Copy the folder and run both .exe's?

Im really proud of you guys folding under the DH name. I know we have never had a folding team of our own so it is really cool to see the DH name under the ATI team.
If anyone reading this is wondering if they should join. Please do. If you cant afford to donate to DH and want to help out then divert that help to this worthy cause. If you are also the kind of person to leave your computer on with MSN running when you arent around then its ideal. Even though you are using power, you are using that power for good !
Get joining up!! I think the chance to win a really cool video card is secondary.

Folding! Yay. Been hoping DH would get behind this. I downloaded the "no nonesense text only" version. Is there any way to not have the taskbar button showing?

I have noticed that number changes all the time.. at one time it said under 2 minutes. I also don't know if that number scales directly to performance.. Maybe it changes depending on the type of frame you are working on? Not sure. Plus I took that shot after I was actually using my PC, so I think when it is just idle (like all night) it has more CPU cycles to give to folding.
Too bad they don't have an Nvidia 7900 client.. I'm sure that would be possible if they wanted to make it happen.

it depends on the size of the WU, some can take as little as a few hours, others can take days.

you need to run console versions and assign different ID's too each copy running.
