303 Theory - Acid Trip

Ok well i called this "Acid Trip" 'cause I was using a 303 sound, but I have no idea wtf to call it.

Took my a whole of about 30 minutes to make, and I have no idea what I was intending to produce here.

Download

I might continue work on it, make it a little longer.

Feedback please

To linear for my tastes, that sound that carries through the whole song should be louder if you intend to carry it through the whole song.

The breakdowns are a little off and the second sounds too clean.

Needs a bunch more sounds and maybe only one breakdown. Also alternating your build ups will make it sound less linear. Also a new name for the song would probably be better. Like think of what you want to go for then visualize a name then go and keep that name in your head.

mtsaint is on a distinguished road

well overall its okay but it doesnt have that dj_stick signature sound i was expecting. i was a little put off by its oh so familiar sound you know bass intro to hook to drums not that its a bad thing. i really dig the thick ambient bass on your track it make my head vibrate. i dont know im sure you worked hard on this and i would like to give you more feedback. somehow this track comes off as unoriginal but easy to listen to.
you should definatly post more tracks here as i am rather impressed that some one is posting something other than jokes porn tech reviews or highly debateable subject matter.

have you a midi keyboard ? do you record your own samples? have you tried some online music communties I.E sony acid online. do you have friends that can play music or sing?
HMMM.... post more music as i am interested.

i have a midi capable hardware synth (Korg Microkorg) and all my bass/lead lines are produced on a softsynth, and almost all my percussion is programmed myself from various sample hits (others are basic percussion loops that are quite obvious)

and tbh i didn't really work all that hard on it, it was just a kind of experiment into making an "old-school" sounding track (hence the familiarity of certain elements) that turned into this. All in all probably about an hour's work

It differs from my other works a bit (but then they are all different in their own way) and that is probably the reason i used a different artist name (303 Theory is my acid/trippy music alias)

EDIT: I do know a few people that produce, both as a hobby and commercially (signed to labels etc) and my last production was a remix of a melody written by a friend of mine

I have a few more tracks in the works at various stages of completion, including a couple of remixes - all will probably be slightly different in the "feel" as with each track i'm trying to explore different areas of the trance genre
