X1900gt

How good is X1900GT Linux driver support? I'm trying to decide between getting a X1900GT or a 7900GS. Is the X1900GT even supported? Can you run XGL with the current driver support?

TIA

The X1900GT is supported by the newest driver.

I would go with the 7900GS - I have one myself. Only reason is that nVidia have much better driver support in Linux than ATI. So if you game in Linux, go nVidia

Well, the X1900GT is faster. I don't game on Linux, but I was planning on trying a few tricks on it though.

Seeing as ATI drivers are typically less than half as fast as their windows counterpart in my experience and nvidia drivers are about the same as their windows counterpart I doubt the X1900GT is faster in Linux unless it's > twice as fast as the 7900GS

Eh, I wouldn't care much about performance under Linux. But since X1900GT seems to more of a paper launch (you can only find a model or two on sites that have 10 models of 7900GS), I think I'll stick with nVidia. Though I might still get the X1900GT if I find a good deal. Meh, I'm still undecided. Nicer AF and better performance vs better support and plenty to chose from...
