mac wireless network adapter

hey guys, i am looking for a wireless network adapter for a g4 tower. i would prefer it to not be usb, but that looks like what i might have to do. there are cards, but you have to find earlier revisions, etc. is anyone else in this situation? thanks for any help.

Depending on what model PowerMac G4 you have you need either an Airport or an Airport Extreme card. If your G4 has firewire 800 ports you need an airport extreme, or not then it just supports airport cards.

Either way the card gets installed in the lower lefthand corner of the main logic board when you open the case.

this is a friends computer. do you know where it is located on the motherboard? i opened it up, and it had something in the lower left corner that looked like it might be an airport card. i heard thats where the go. no airport software was installed on it. also a little off topic, shes running 10.2 something, is the update to 10.4.7 free?

ya its in the lower corner of the motherboard. If she is running OS X 10.2 the highest she can update is to 10.2.8 or 10.2.9, I can't remember what the last update was called. She would need to buy 10.4 if she wanted it, although with 10.5 in not that long, it doesn't make much sense.
