Looks great, but following suit of 9800XT, X850, and not very "new". R600 should be the card debuting, and @ the end of October. Development of this card was a waste of time and resources.

Good price, good performance and a silent cooler, it's just to close to r600.
Great card though.

it doesn't look like DH has posted a review on this card, or there being a link to one. if there is, can anybody tell me where it's at? ATM, i'm thinking it as being just a filler card, but that's just my opinion until i have seen a review comparing the results of the x1900xtx and the x1950xtx

I voted for great card, I'd love one
I mean christ guys, what more do you want?
there's always new tech 'just around the corner', so you always gotta get on with what you got right now, and this card looks pretty fecking sweet to me right now
I'd have one at a stroke, the whole dx10 argument is mute as far as I'm concerned cos it's gonna take at least a year after release of vista before that whole shebang works properly and is worth getting
but what do I know, I still have agp (and an apparantly doomed AiW at that)

Well, i got 2 x1900's, and the performance boost offered by the x1950's is not something that appeals to me @ all, due to the small increases.
I tend to buy new cards as soon as they are available locally, because i like to benchmark. but i won't be buying two of these...might buy one tho...

Great board, id love one (If I had an appropriate rig to "accomodate" it)
It is oviously a filler, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a great product: one of the highest performing and most advanced cards has just got better!

very good card for a single card solution
but they are lacking a dual gpu solution, the dual gpu is what keeps nvidia still on top

@ richy: i'm not saying it's not a bad card, but in the FPS market, the 7900GTX blows it away on both average and high frame rates. although, the XTX does have a higher low frame rates than the GTX and GX2 in most cases. And i also agree w/IvanV. It is a filler, but at the same time a good product.

every driver update made makes the catalyst and crossfire a wee bit more interesting.
i'd still suggest sli over ati, but imo, crossfire when it works, it's superioir

It's a great card, if ATI wanted to prove that X1900XTX is not bandwidth limited. Other than that, really not impressive. 'Quad SLI killer'? In their dreams, maybe...
Edit: Though I think it's filler card, I voted 'expecting more', because one can hardly say this card is awful. It's just an upgrade no one needs...

i'm right there wicha . i hoping i can do my upgrade shortly after vista is released. That system will probably last me another 2yrs. + just like my current one has been doing .
Though, i'm thinking of upgrading my RAM to 2Gb and keeping my current rig for a lil bit longer by doing that. If i do that, i'll probably keep my rig for another year or so, and it'll also be cheaper than upgrading to a whole new rig for sure ....especially since you know....i need to get a new car because i'm a family man.

You're right on the money.. a 1GB boost will be noticed and you'll be able to hold off for a while with it. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
My next upgrade is going to be my most expensive one.. so I'm going to hold out as long as I can. I plan on getting a Core x6600 and leave the x6800 as my upgrade path. $1000 is a bit much but $>300 is doable. It runs so cool that even I will be able to safely overclock it up to x6800 specs. Coupled with a 2nd to top of the line Nvidia card and I'm set. (by the time I do this.. who knows what they'll have)

i know that a 1Gb boost will be noticed. and i haven't done it sooner because i've been strapped for cash quite a bit lately. soon though (probably in november), i should have enough money to buy me that ram i want. but since i'm a PC enthusiast, imna want the good shit . i'm looking at getting this OCZ 2Gb kit, and 2-3-2-5 is some good shit in 1Gb modules . however, if something else comes up w/timings just as good, i'll get that instead......providing it's a fairly well known manufacturer. honestly, i'd only buy from Corsair, OCZ, G.skill, and Kingston.....and probably in that order too .
