Another month, another release from ATI. Some of the highlights of this release are Display Switching Support for IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad Products, ATI Pairmode Support, Retaining Display Device State Between Restarts, New Product Support and Unified Linux Proprietary Linux Driver.

Well, Im running into errors when trying to build the package for Ubuntu, according to the install notes it should be enough to do a sudo sh ati-driver-installer.8.28.8.run --buildpkg Ubuntu/6.06 however this is not the case as it stalls and quits giving error :

line 56: dpkg-architecture: command not foundError: unsupported architecture:

Oh well, going to start a post to see If someone are able to solve this one.

Ok On ubuntu I had my radeon 9600 mobile working then when the new drivers came out it quit working. It boots then hangs with the splashscreen. I also tried to install it to a Compaq P4 laptop with a radeon 7500, it also did the same thing. I have gone backwards from the newest back to ( I have drawn a blank on the version ) and no joy. I am using Dapper Drake, if that makes any difference here. Like i said I know it did work and had it working. I would really like to get my ATI drivers installed and working so I can use those laptops which are my gaming and workhorses (Sager 8790 P4 3.4 with radeon 9600 256mb). Any ideas that could help me? Any info you need just email me I will be happy to supply it. I am not in front of those machines right now but will be when I reply.
