Zardon, Any chance of a ATI X1950XTX Review please ? [UPDATED]
Just wondering if you guys can hopefully get ati to lend you a X1950XTX sample for review
i would love driver heaven to be the first site with a dedicated review of this card...
14th september is when the card is released.
i just want to know how much faster it is over the x1900XTX cards.
--------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------
Updated info, the following picture above was sample 1, here is sample 2, the picture is small i will try and find a better sized picture:
for now check this out, this version looks a lot slicker
Update :
here we go a far better picture of the new sample 2
I also found out that the X1950XTX pulls 36watts more power than the X1900XTX probably due to its 1000mhz GDDR4,
i need a question answered from zardon lol would my psu take it, its a 580w tagan Sli PSU with 35a on the 12v line when in combined mode. currently i have a X1900XTX in my system and working so just wondering hehe...

we already have the card guys, and I was recently with ATI at meetings/ presentations regarding the product.
As some of you know, ATI make a publication involved sign an NDA (a non disclosure) meaning you cannot discuss or post information/benchmarks on the product until a specific date/time. This ensures to ATI that all coverage happens at the same time, worldwide.
I am aware this time that there was an article appearing from vrzone detailing the X1950. They in fact breached the NDA and were told by ATI to remove it (which they did). Unfortunately specific sites like this tend to just ignore NDA and do their own thing meaning they get loads of hits by being the only site to post information on the product, while other sites (like us) adhere to ATI's NDA. Hopefully sites that breach these NDA's get punished for future products, but we will see
Our review will be up the moment ATI allow us to do so .... so all I can ask is for a little patience.

You mean competition, right? There's no need for one. See, I have this agreement with the"Powers that (might) be" that I would get the first X1950 card that DH receives for review, or the first to be put up in a competition. So, either way, I win.
(Z... my address is still the same as the one from the last competition I "won". )

i wonder if ATI will sell the cooler alone seperately? So that users with the leaf-blower solutions on their x1900's can get them changed(for quiter ones hopefully) without voiding the warranty.

send me a crossfire setup, and i'll put it to the ultimate test...
hopefully thier crossfire eddition of the board has decent dogle tighteners that you can actually use without instantly snapping due to the extremely light metal used.

ooooooh, i'm drooling... this would be a nice upgrade along with DDR2 and C2D for XP and hold out as long as possible before moving to Vista/DX10. I guess this will be ATI's last DX9 card? Can't wait for all the reviews to hit the net, here first, of course...

Veridian3 has several of them, and has had for a while. I used them weeks ago when I was over seeing ATI.

This is a question on CrossFire, specifically on the mixed modes with CrossFire. With the X1900 using the composite chip on the CrossFire master cards, well, there is minor limitation with adding any additional negative lod, from my understanding. Over-all the mixed mode does a wonderful job of offering a clean texture, but with the minor sacrifice of some texture clarity in some cases.
So, my question is this:
Does the X1950 solve this minor limitation with the mixed | |
