Asio 24/96?

I have one SB0610 Audigy4 and I have the 24/96 (8+8) and 24/96 (2+2) options in the ASIO panel. I read in the general section that there will be no ASIO 24/96 development, so I am asking wether the options that I have are truly 24/96 (and what do 8+8 and 2+2 stand for), that is, if I can really record 24 bit 96 kHz from analog via ASIO driver. Thanks.

Chris.

Thanks...So the ASIO options 24/96 (8+8) and 24/96 (2+2) are just for playback at the moment...or they should not work at all? (I haven't tried them yet... )
