Installation probs, help

As you may or may not know, the new Ubuntu/Kubuntu distro cd loads up as a live cd first, then attempts to setup installation from there.

ive installed it fine on some of my other computers, and decided to put it on my main comp. it's a amd64 3500+ with an msi k8n neo4 sli mobo, a gig of ram, and two msi 6800GTs in SLI.

After loading the live CD (running the checks, everythign comes back as "OK"), it attempts to enter the OS. You hear the startup sound, but the screen remains black, with only a white underscore/cursor in the top left. The cursor doesn't blink or anything.

Does anyone know what the problem is? I think it has to do with the X server refusing to run in SLI, and I'm not really going to take SLI out of my comp just for linux. So if it's not a fixable problem, does anyone know a distro that will accept this setup?

Thanks

It's probably that opensource NV driver doesn't support SLI yet. I suggest trying SUSE or Fedora to compare (SUSE has a nice LiveDVD), and if problem persists, then Kororaa (which uses NVIDIA binary driver by default).
