I would be happy to have one if it got given to me, but I can't justify the cost of yet another console.

if the PC gaming market and hardware stays reasonably priced I will never switch to a console.
however if game developers want us to use AMD 4x4 architecture and games need SLI graphics card I will pass

i'll own one only if somebody gives it to me .
i'd rather give my money to bill who has made something successful, than to a company who has successfully launched a failed product *cough*beta*cough*

I for one used to be a console fan,i had them all pre ps2/xbox.I have lost interest in consoles after that. But this were more down to not having a pc at the time.
Pc have more use and versatility at the moment imo,but it certainly looks like consoles in the modern day is catching up very quickly. As everything it all depends on a individuals needs.
My vote is NO unless im given one which will not happen.

Too pricey at the moment. I may get one when prices go down a lot. But I'll get the Wii first, it appeals to me more and doesn't cost a fortune. Also, I'll never replace my PC with a PS3. I've spent too much time customizing this box to do that

Here the PS2 laucned for the same price. People bought it at the time because it was the latest gaming tech and it had a cheap DVD drive. Now we got the PS3, same price for here, still the top of the tech pile and with a cheap BD drive + a mess of crap. Could do just as well if not better, especialy in Japan where it counts.

I will wait until I can find one at a garage sale. I paid $1 for my atari 5200, $5 for my colecovision, $30 for my 3DO, $50 for my PS1 and PS2, so I can obviously wait until that day.....

i think consoles and PCs can peacefully coexist... even if you have an awesome rig with a gamepad its just not the same as playing a console... specially multiplayer... its so cool to be able to sit with 3 buddies in front of the same TV and play a game... thats something the PC won't do for a long time and playing online isn't the same...
i think consoles should aim to integrate as much as possible and work as much as possible WITH existing home PCs and not AGAINST them... that's a battle they will NEVER win!

Voted no
I haven't bought a console since my ps1 way back. A couple of years after that I got my first pc, a pentium 3 with a voodoo3 and haven't looked back since.

Wow it costs how much? My thoughts exactly. No way will I pay sony's price for a console.
On another note. Can a poll be started for the Wii?? Or is there one already? I would like to see the results of that poll.

Huge let down... Graphics (which they say are better than the 360s) are the same, the games, even though polished, don't have the "must have" factor and their controller sucks badly. I remeber having the sidewinder for the PC which had the same tech and honestly, I hated it... Oh, and the price is just not justified.
Copy paste from another thread But hell, those are my thoughts.

i think its well worth the cash, sheesh you guys go out there and try to buy a Blueray dvdrom player never mind the multimedia and gameing and online functions just for a standard blueray dvdrom player your talking $900+, i think its well worth it..... and those that say it costs to much are people that cant aford it. and if they can aford it and say its still to much then i say what the hell do you expect... i cant wait

I worry about the quality of the drives frankly.
A quick glance at ebay and the vast number of PS2's with faulty dvd drives because they were rushed out and were cheap to start with, makes me wonder if it's really worthwhile jumping in with both feet.
It's sony after all;
Goal no 1 = make lots money
....
....
....
....
.....
.....
Goal no 263 = learn from mistakes

I had a PS and a PS2. both have been sold. I like my computer better. The price tag for the PS3 is a lil too rich for my blood. I might just drool over it and see what the new games are going to be.

I know the controller COMFORT is good but I wasn't talking about that, now was I? Have you ever played any game with a gyroscope in your controller? If so, then reread my post. If not, go try it out... It's horrible.
And I want rumble!!!

ill stick with Nintendo's Wii, especially considering its going for less than 250$ and seems buttloads more fun. If I want pretty graphics ill just sit infront of my pc.

I mosty a PC person more then a console person. I do have a Gamecube thats it. And i will replace that with a Wii. I bought a cube for games i wanted plu when family members come over , we could play games that it be easier for them to play.
Now for the blue ray, if i want blu ray i just go buy the LG dual format blu ray/HD dvd burner for 500 dollars. Which should be out soon from LG.
