ZIPZOOMFLY, My 2 cents
I have never had any trouble with them or newegg. But I have started going to ZZF more and more, They are a few bucks more sometimes but I like the 3 day shipping already included the price. Anyone had problems with them? I was suprised to hear newegg was a hole in the wall store. Funny how a slick web site hides the truth or I"m just easly fooled ;]

ive probably bought 15 or 20 items from zzf and not an issue with any of them.you do have to watch the prices sometimes but thats common with all online retailers.if you notice on pricewatch you will see that zzf is most always close to the top if you have lowest prices first listed.the problem is they dont stock alot of items that newegg does.also zzf shipping rocks.thats my 1 cents worth

The only thing I don't like about ZZF, is that they don't provide a lot of information on their products. Just a small picture, and manufacturers description. I bought from them most times, but I do all the research on whay I buy elsewhere.

I have ordered from both online retailers (Newegg and ZZF). I prefer neweggs delivery. On time everytime so far.
ZZF was late by one day but that didn't bother me too much.
Both offer good service but I favor newegg a bit more.

When they were still GoogleGear I tried to order some RAM and it wouldn't take my Credit Card. It kept on telling me that my address did not match. Now, I have lived here for a number of years. I know what my address is.
Needless to say. I went over to Newegg. Placed an order for similar ram and my card went through fine.
I guess GoogleGear wanted the sale badly because they called later on to try and run my card again.
I will stick with Newegg. They haven't let me down at all.

Let me warn you all about ZZF now. Their customer service is complete and utter shit. I had my email account stolen a few weeks ago and the asshat whole stole my email used the password recover feature from ZZF to change my password and etc. By doing this, I could not get into my account.
The issue started when I called ZZF oh... I lost count. 8 or 9 Times. Each Time I called them they told me that either: Make a new account, Managers have other things to do too you know, there are no managers available, we can not reset your password for you, you just do not know how to log into your account, and other ridiculous things. There are a bunch of idiots working at ZZF support and the impression I got from them is that they do not care what happens to your personal information, just as long as the rest of you keep buying from them. It was a day later when I finally got my account back; I kept calling and calling until they fixed it. Somehow, they were able to do something that they said they could not do and was not important enough because the managers had other things to do, you know.
Great prices; the shittiest support after Google.

google has support?
I'm very leery of ZZF myself...no personal experiences, but know several friends with problems with DOA/damaged in shipping items

I favor ZZF over Newegg because the latter charges sales tax on the total order (including shipping) for TN residents, and we have the highest sales tax in the USA (9.25-9.75%, depending on county, for non-grocery items and 1% less on groceries).
I never had a problem with ordering, at least up until delivery. But the one time I needed to return a product, my asking for a RMA was treated like Osama asking the White House for attack suggestions. And, no, I never got one and resorted to selling the item on feebay.

Definitely where I spend most of my money. I love Zipzoomfly, they always have competitive - most of the time Better - prices with the other giants, NewEgg and the like. Although they recently changed policies, their old Free 2-Day FedEX shipping was absolutely unbeatable. They got my money for the guts of my latest PC and a whole lot more, and I've still yet to have a problem. They Rock, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

A no vote from me.
I ordered 2 gigs of ram from them about a 2 months ago. It took 7 business days before it showed up at my door. Unacceptable IMO, even with free shipping. I picked the package up from outside my door (lousy fed ex leaves packages outside ) and I heard it flail around inside the box. I opened the box up and sure enough they hadn't put enough filler in the box and the ram was just loose inside. I think I am lucky and haven't had any issues and it appears there was no damage.
I've bought from them many times in the past but it seems that in the last 6 months or so they have not been up to par.

So you're saying that you should not have to wait 7 days for a product that was shipped for FREE? Wtf? It takes roughly 8$ a pound to ship 3day, they're not going to eat that cost for you. I think no shipping charges on standerd for any product they sell is GREAT.

I agree. I was a huge ZZF fan back when they were Googlegear. I used both them and Newegg equally.
Well about 6 months ago I built a new PC for Kristen (my fiancee) and ordered some parts from Newegg and some from ZZF. Well 1 part from ZZF went on backorder even though the site still showed in stock even after it went on backorder.
So did they ship the rest of my order? Nope they backordered the whole order. So I called to cancel the part (it was a CPU) that caused the backorder. ZZF told me they couldn't cancel my order. Then I found out that they'd charged our credit card even though they hadn't shipped. However their site says they do not charge until items have shipped.
So I called them back up and said hey, you charged our card, they claimed that they hadn't, that it was just a "hold charge" that it doesn't take any money out. I said it shows on our bank website that it is actually deducted from both our "actual" balance and our "available" balance. That means it is really taken out.
Well they said regardless they would not cancel the order, nor refund the money. Well I went to the bank and filed a complaint since they wouldn't send the parts, they wouldn't cancel the order, and they wouldn't refund the money. Guess what, that constitutes fraud. So when I get to the bank I inform ZZF via phone that I am there (I'd been on the phone this whole time with them), and they call bullshit. I put them on the phone with the bank and they thought we had someone pretending until she asked them to call the bank and ask for her by name.
So they called back after they verified that the number was genuine for the bank and spoke with her. She said that if they did not give us our money back, or cancel our order, or allow us to order a different CPU that was in stock that they would refund our money and pursue them legally.
At that point this is several hours into it and ZZF finally agreed to allow us to order a different CPU, but they wouldn't take any money off the order or anything.
In fact we ended up having to pay extra for the slight upgrade on the CPU.
All in all after several thousand dollars worth of orders through them over the years I find they aren't the same company really as when they were GG. They do not care.
I will never deal with them as long as their policy is to lie, bully, and cheat customers.

I orderd a CPU from these people, has taken two days to process the order so far. it's taken a day to package it up...still has not shipped.I wrote to them asking if I was going to recive the order ths week or next week. Since I paid for over night service, they will say But Fedex don't deliver on weekends. I orderd some new system ram from NewEgg the same day...And already have it in my PC. Suppose I will shop at NewEgg from now on!
On top of that,I got an email from them saying they had been trying to call me all day. I looked at my caller ID and caught them in a lie! Any place that would lie about somthing like that, well know I sure don't trust them!

My fist order from them was for a 1.4 T-Bird when they were GoogleGear, I have ordered many CPU's from them, no problems.... But I have heard stories, bad stories, about them before. I will be careful and only order one part at a time in the future.

x-fi
Well I ordered an item that was on backorder, an x-fi fatality because of the great rebate. I open it up and it is used, bags already opened, pins bent on the front I/O port, missing a molex adapter, etc. I call to inform them, the first guy gives me a return address and tells me I have to pay shipping. I hang up, and think to myself, why should I pay shipping for a used item they sent me. I call again and tell them that I refuse to pay for shipping for an item that was already used.
We talk for a long time, and I argued my heart out while she tried to tell me that they had to be "sure" if the item was used and I told her, not so nicely that the concept of having a customer pay for shipping for an item that they should already be enjoying is ridiculous. She says nothing for a while and I get a chance to cool down. She talks to her manager and they email me a fedex return label. So rightfully, I pay NOTHING for their own incomptence.
This is probably the 4th 5th item that I have recieve from zip zoom that was already used. I will never shop there again, my last buisness will be getting my brand NEW x-fi that I got for about 100 bucks. Will keep you updated on the status of the item. I wouldn't be suprised if they send me another used one, then I will be seriouslly pissed.

Zing bang boom
I stopped using them for a long time.
Months went by constant RMA 'ing my Power Color 9800 Pro 256, 2 in a row was enough.
Very unsympithatic to the heart break of spending the big buck($400,00) to get the latest and by the time you get a running one it's old and outdated only worth half.

I don't buy from newegg because they have sales tax in NJ. Zip zoom fly has always gotten my parts to me in 2 days without any problems on any of them.
