Can you see this picture? (56K warning, I'm testing me new online home)
Does this show up? Have I gotten the URL right yet?
EDITED BITS: Damn, I STILL haven't gotten this thing all figured out yet and my install date is TOMORROW! Does anyone know how I can correct the above URL to just display the image? I still can't call tech support until tomorrow...

Thanks, but..
...the PC is actually final and a little cuter. The speakers are pink now too where they're white in the picture, and I finished a keyboard that has the same translucent hot-pink frame and I hand painted all the keys pink & lettered 'em in gold. (Oh, and painted an old Intellimouse Optical pink to replace the ball-wheel one...I NEED a scroll-wheel!)

really cute pic digi, and you did a fanastic job of the pc, your daughter certainly has your features, and as your wife wont let me see what she looks like ill have to say she looks like you !
this might sound like a lame question here, but what is the "fluffy" material you have around the monitor? (I didnt fully read your last articles so forgive me if you have posted that info already) The reason im asking is static buildup.

I believe it's formal name is "fluffy pink boa-like stuff", at least that's what I've been referring to it as. It's a nylon artificial fur that probably might build up static, especially the way the cats roll around on it. But with the amount of abuse I'm expecting that rig to take, static was sort of the last of me considerations.
Thankfully Compaq used to build their cases like fricking tanks, me daughter can dance on it without hurting it. (And she has, oh yes she has. ) The monitor is generall covered with a liberal coating of cheese from me daughters macaroni & cheese lunch in front of the computer tradition that started a couple of weeks ago, but I've been trying to keep it cleaner.
She's pulled off that pink fuzzy twice so far, but it glues on easy. I have to do a "restorative treatment" to her decorations every couple of three weeks to put the bits she pries off back on, I'm hoping to run out to the craft store where I got that pink stuff and pick up some extry in case this gets trashed.
It hasn't hurt the performance of the PC at all though, it's un-fricking believably stable!

Hey, Dig,
Unless you use Premium Yahoo, you won't be able to direct link to images posted there. I used this for a long time until they changed it last year. Now I have to use my ISP storage (or some other such freebie site) and use the IMG direct link to that.
Hope this helps.

Here's Little Mattie.....right after birth...
She was pitching a fit off an on....this was during a little pause from the crying.
However, she's doing just fine and has been very good to her momma.

Uhm, do you mean "Premium" as in an addition to the $40/mos I'm shelling out to them for the DSL? I'm confused...
Cute picture of Mattie! How's the Mom & family doing?

Everyone is doing GREAT!
As for Yahoo, I'm not sure how they have it set up with you. However, I don't pay them anything. My ISP is now ComCast Broadband and BellSouth Net Dialup.
So, for me, I can't use Yahoo Photo Albums to link directly to photos/images I put there. You may have to check your own features and it sometimes takes them '5 days' to get things activated.

That's the best news I've heard all day, I'm very glad to hear it. Nothing happier than a smooth & healthy birthing to perk things up! (Although I'm also feeling sorry for the parents for the next 6-8 weeks, although my second one was easier. )

Yeah, I kind of figured I forgot to mention that Yahoo was actually my ISP now too so I figure there must be a way for me to just directly access the space. Like I said, my "official" activation date ain't until the morrow so I'm just saving up me questions for then and counting meself lucky to have the advanced opportunity to fiddle around with it.
Do you live local to your new grand-daughter? Are you gonna do some life-saving baby-sitting for 'em?

I don't think you'd handle me life well Zar, I really don't. It's a bit too disgustingly cute & sweet for most at times.
Me daughter really is head-over-heels in love with that PC. We picked her up a little rolling office chair on sale at CVS for $16 about a week ago and it's been all over since then. (Well, that and the network improving her game selection about a bazillionfold along with a spiffy performance boost from the V3. )
I like Babs, she's definately a unique computing device and perfectly suited to me daughter's current computing needs. I've had nothing but positive reactions to her in real-life, and at least two people have asked me where they could get one. (There is no WAY I'd do it for money, that's a labor-o-love. )

All of the grandkids, so far anyway, live very close by. And, YES, I'm always eager to spend time with them. My older two granddaughters are getting ready to spend a weekend with me soon. We just have to make sure things are good for everyone. My place is a bit 'under construction' right now, so, I'm hoping to have it where they can't get into trouble that could hurt them.
