I have an Asus x1900XT, mine runs at about 55c idle and runs up to about 75c when gaming in BF2. I already put Arctic Silver 5 on my gpu and it didnt lower my temps at all. I have the beta ATI Tool and it does say you can disable the exe that controls the 2d/3d app and make ATI Tool run it the same for 2d/3d apps, meaning it can run you full speed as all times. I have not tried this myself cuz I dont like messing around too much with a $550 card. I looked into an Arctic Cooler for the x1900 but it only really reduces sound noice rather then show a better cooling ability over the stock cooler. I dont have the money for water cooling like I'd like so unless someone has some great suggestions or a nice x1900 + new ATI Tool tutorial showing how to run ATI properly I'm stuck aswell. I also tried running with my side panel off and it only showed a few degrees in differnce, not worth letting all that dust and junk in my case.

Don't worry about your temps, they are not great but within tolerances according to ATi. Watch for artifacting while you are gaming, if you don't see any you are OK. The X1900 fan actrually does an OK job spinning up under load.

BTW, Ray says X1900 will be suppoerted soon.

Oh dear read my previous posts re the cooler. Very good in normal workings but overheats system as it blows the hot air into the case and not expelled out the vent.

Kind regards

hi again guys. i installed X2 and to be honest my temps arent that much cooler than the stock one. i must agree with a prior post, take off stock cooler and put a different kind of thermal paste and you will achieve same temps as a after market aircooler does. i wasnt really impressed with the look or performance of X2. but i did like the Artic Cooler i purchased for x850 xt. it looks more like a cooler and not like a boomerang..lol thx guys
