Pretty bad PCMark04 Score
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm04=3179112
New build is scoring 1200 less then the p4 3.2 ghz Dell I had. This is a new rig:
I've installed the latest chipset, Nothing major was running in the background, HyperThreading is enabled.

Weird... You sure you installed everything? Are your PCMark05 scores also below average?

450mhz OC gave me a 400pt decrese in score. Somethings definately wrong. High temps maybe? Ill run the benchmark again and keep an eye on temps at the same time. What else would I have to install? I never did an 05 test with the old comp unfortunatly.
Temps Never go above 69c.
Installed latest Divx drivers score went up to 3900 but still 900 lower then my previous computer.

I had that Asus AI booster running while running the test to check that and it stayed at 3ghz the whole time. Ill do it again and check with cpuid
Same thing at the beginning at each test the speed is 2.8 but once the test starts it jumps up to 3ghz. So it isnt throttling down.

Since you asked how I was scoring from the other thread.
http://service.futuremark.com/orb/pr...jectId=3180158
Yes it is overclocked a tad, but it shouldn't make that big of a difference.
Try turning off speedstep? Can you turn off thermal throttling in the bios? I haven't looked yet. Besides that I don't really know.

Dam yep there has to be something wrong I did go ahead and order the AS5 and ill put it on when it comes in. Speedstep was off by default and I dont believe theres an option in the bios to turn off thermal throttling. Whats your idle/max load temps? I appriciate your help.

AS5 instaled 38c Idle 65c underload. 4636 with AS5 only went to 65c for a second, usually 57-62 so that may have caused a little throttling. I may have added a little too much ( 2 drops the size of rice, spread with a creditcard ) But Ive also read once AS5 gets set it will lower your temp a few more degrees. Should i take some off or just give it a couple days and go from there?

Just leave it. As long as the heatsink it seated right, most of it should spread out pretty evenly.

don't set the memory to auto, set the ratio yourself. My last asus board would always do that once in a while.

Use the bios, I don't use AIBooster. It is called DRAM speed or something like that. It is under the FSB adjustment in the bios.

Not harmful but the CPU may start throttling, wich means lowering clock speed to cool off.
