Adaware, no.... spybot, yo!
Has anyone noticed that adaware hasn't been putting out any new updates for quite some time? I've found Spybot to be much better at searching my system for spyware, and it's free too!

SpyBot causes my Registry to crash recently....but I'll try it again.
On the other hand, it looks really nice.

If you're still using Ad-Aware 5.x there hasn't been any updates for it since like Sept 2002 ...
Download Ad-Aware 6.0 and you'll have much more recent updates.
Hope this helps!

It still can't clean as well as S&D. Adaware Pro 6 detects only a fraction of the stuff S&D throws back at me. Except cookies. AP6 gets more than S&D. But, as we all know, cookies are not so dangerous and I could live with some of them. If you can get over the ugly interface, S&D performs better, IMO.

lol! Never use Kazaa, the official client. Kazaa Lite is the best you can make out of this crappy p2p. No banners, no popups, no spyware...

Spybot and S&D are the same thing. The full name is Spybot: Seek and Destroy, or something like that. It seems to me to be better than Ad-Aware, though I haven't been using Ad-Aware 6.0. I'll probably just stick with Spybot.

Um, u mean Spybot - Search & Destroy. Anyway, I have both, and they're great. As for P2P, I use Kazaa Lite K++ 2.1.0 version, and Overnet with no ads/unlimited bandwidth crack, and WinMX sometimes. All have no ads/spyware.

If all you use is Spybot:S&D I suggest to try Ad-Ware 6. Even after running a check with an up to date Spybot..... Ad-Ware 6 found 156 peice of spyware Spybot missed

I use a combination of S&D, SpywareBlaster, and Adaware. Just remember to update all the proggies, and scan every day or so... I think spyware will be eradicated by the year 2451....

Ad-Aware has been releaseing loads of updates. I like the program and will continue to use it. I also plan to pay for the full version so that I can support there effort to get rid of spyware.

I always use spybot first, then ad-aware for cleanup (data miner cookies), that's always worked for me. So, in other words, I use both.

Same here using both is the best method, because one can cleanup what the other missed. Mainly becuase one looks for things the other was not programmed for.

Yep- use both!!!
SpyBot finds alot of program history access too. This feature isn't part of Ad-Aware. The Plus version is better since it includes Ad-Watch. They are working on a cookie blocker add-on for a future up-date.

Plus Spybot SD seaches for bots, and a load of other things Ad Aware doesn't. The reverse is also true, Ad Aware also find things that Spybot SD doesn't.
You are better wit both.
