Totally new to KX and a little more than confused.
Greetings,
I've been reading around the forums for a while now tonight, trying to answer my own question, but I am just not totally sure what I need to do. So I'm sorry if this is a repeat or common thing.
I have an Audigy 2 ZS, which after having problems with the offical Creative drivers, found out about and am currently trying the KX drivers. Everything works fine except for of course, MIDI. Now I've read quite a few posts about soundfonts, how KX doesn't load them by default, and about the download sites to get them from... but I just don't get it.
Admittedly I'm a MIDI novice. I literally just use a program called Noteworthy Composer to work in what has become a tiny hobby of making some low quality MIDI music. I use no external devices or any other programs, so I'm a very basic MIDI user. My problem stems from that I don't really know what I need to do to get MIDI working again. I don't have any Creative CD as I purchased my card OEM. And while I can use the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth, I would prefer not to as it... sounds crappy.
Anyway, since I can use the MS built in MIDI, this isn't a dire situation. It won't make or break my hobby to go back to the Wavetable SW Synth, as it was what I had been hearing for a while using only onboard sound from the motherboard. It was just nice, when I got the Audigy, to have some better MIDI. And I would like to have that, or something or similar quality again.
Again, sorry if this a common question or I am just not getting it.
Thanks.
