For 1 you don't need two threads, for two you can
use omaga drivers , DHzp, or the ofical drivers and
use the mobilty mod tool, all can be found on the DH
downloads server

also radeon 9000/9100 IGP is pretty weak and only
support DX8 via hardware so, if any of those games
require full DX9 support then thats why they won't run...

If your going to game you need to spend alot more and buy
a laptop with a much newer / more powerfull graphics or you
have to stick to older titles...

patje is a glorious beacon of lightpatje is a glorious beacon of lightpatje is a glorious beacon of lightpatje is a glorious beacon of lightpatje is a glorious beacon of lightpatje is a glorious beacon of light

So, let's start with the beginning.
Which drivers did you use/try ?
Can you play other recent games not EA related?
what OS are you using? XP? win2k?
The more info we have, the better...

well, I replied in the other thread, so you won't be able to close it now, lets continue in this thread.

First of all, tell us what patje mentioned.

I can tell you that if your system only has 128mb of RAM, you don't meet minimum requirements for the three games you listed. The minimum requirements for all of them is 256mb of RAM, so that may be your problem.

~1GB of Ram

~128Mb ATI Mobility Radeon 9000/9100

~DirectX Version 9

~Intel Pentium IV 2.8Ghz

~60GB Hard Drive

The Drivers I've tried are as follows

~Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.205 (Catalyst 6.1)

~The updated drivers from HP (My laptop is an HP Pavilion)
~Tried the ATI's with the DHmodtool and it installed fine, only thing it it went from being a 9000/9100 to a 9000
~But even at that it still will not work.

ATI 9000/9200 will only run on Cat 5.6 or older. They won't recognize LCD laptop panels on newer versions. This includes all 5.7+ and the new 6.1 drivers. If you play BF2 (or other EA game) on a 9000, you have to have a 5.7+ version, which the 9000 won't support with the LCD. You can however run those games with a 9000 and new drivers on an external monitor.

Omega 2.6.42 are the last that work, they are based off Cat 5.6. DH Mod Tool will mod the newer ones, they won't work though.

just to clear up some confusion:

The card you have is a either a mobility radeon 9000 or a mobility radeon 9100
The Ati installer detects it as mobility radeon 9000 so you can be sure that does the trick.

another thing I read on the Bf2 forums which did sounded a bit odd.
There was a guy trying to play BF2 on M9000 which I tought first wasen't possible, but after updating his video drivers AND his sound drivers he got it to work.
Yes sound drivers, sounds odd I know, but you might as well have look at it as well.

Quitas, interesting statement, but I don't think this has anything to do with LCD panel detection because the screen freezes at the EA logo (if I got it correct? )
Not really sure tough.

as memory serves The game requires DX9 "hardware support" so unless
they monkied with the game (a mod exists) to allow play on cards that are
not DX9 level hardware like a 4200 Ti or a radeon 9200 for example. but
then you will/would be punkbuster banned if you try to play online,
as you changeing dlls and so forth to try to force DirextX 8, its a certantly
will result in a PB ban. Wich can be really bad since then your pretty well
screwed with the new hardware ID system...

But the game won't run with out DX9 hardware support with out
moding the dlls...But I could be wrong since it runs with the
8500 but the 8500 is a very diffrent beast toteing 2 texture units
with each pipe bings it close to 8 pipe performance...

Also: laptop arent really suited for gameing, thier made to
"use less power" and put out less heat wich mean "less
performance" so when it come to gameing a fast laptop is
like what you'd call a "slow" PC in regard to overall
gameing performance.

Got a question for Realness... does the CD drive spin up when it loads? I had a very similar problwm on my lappy with Far Cry when it was released. First I updated my Firmware for the DVD-R and it worked fine. After that I got a no-CD crack at it ran even better. You may even look around to find out how to tweak the games to skip the cinematic intros, that might help as well. This is from TweakGuides for NFSMW...

If you want to speed up the loading of Need for Speed: Most Wanted each time you launch the game, try this tip. Go to your \Program Files\EA GAMES\Need for Speed Most Wanted\MOVIES directory, and rename the files attract_movie_english_ntsc.vp6, ealogo_english_ntsc.vp6 and psa_english_ntsc.vp6 to something else. For example, change their extensions to .REAL_vp6, but don't delete them. Now whenever you launch the game it should arrive at the main game menu much faster. Remember to rename these files back to their original names if you're installing a patch for the game.

Give that a shot and see what happens.

PS. Dont ask where to get CD-Cracks, as its against the forum rules.

well i'm impressed, it bloody works.

so:
i have a windows 2000 setup
cat 6.1
Mobility radeon 9000 (32mb!)
Centrino 1.6
512mb ram

Not the best one out there but still.

So Bf runnning at 800x600
everyting on low or Off
View distance 75%
these are the default settings.
Just tried a the demo map, think it has 16 players max (all bots ofcourse)
fps varied between 20 and 40 but it did ran fluent.
Now i'm gonna try to see if it can handle more players.

and no AA = bloody blocky lol

to answer a few question i just stays at the EA screen, and i havnt tried updating the sound drivers maybe thats it.

I was looking for external video cards but they dont make them.

What I did find was external pci expansion slots that can connect threw PCMCIA, my only question is that to use a PCI video card wouldnt there be conflic only because things like that need to be in windows to function and you need to see things on your computer before you are even in windows. place i saw them were at
Code:
www.magma.com
i mean if I cant get this to work i might just try that.

ANy suggestions? but still number one priiority is to try and get the MObility Radeoin to work

Thanks alot guys and lets keep trying

stay away from the expansion cards, that won't fix your problem, or run better than your current card. Laptops are tough, unless you get some of the new gaming ones, there isn't much to do in the line of video card upgrades.

Liquido is on a distinguished road

I just want to say that my laptop with mobility 9000(64mb) runs battlefield2 and n4speed most wanted without any problems. Actually suprisingly good. Not the best grapchics but smooth gameplay.

well no problem until I came up with the smart idea of updating my videocard driver. I had the omega driver of catalyst 4.11 and thought that maybe it was time for a upgrade. And installed the newest omega drivers and then no of my games worked. So I went back to the old one again. But that didn't work either. So now none of my games are working. Any suggestions???
is it better to use the modder than the omegadrivers?

Rest of my system is Pentium 4 3ghz, 512mb, XP.
