Two games I play all of the time suddenly develop faults or have these always existed? I'm worried about going home and testing them now

Been playing around with the 6.1's this morning and Imho this is a very solid driver. Smooth in BF2/WoW and got an all time high score in CS:S.
Thank you ATI team

Just another mediocre driver for me. Nothing special. I am quite pleased that the Omega version is out, though, so I expect some good results from it compared to the stock set. I hope you can sway an all-natural pessimist, Angel (I refuse to call you by that stupid O-word). Let's see... Go with NVIDIA/SLi and have everything I could ever want, or stick with ATi/CrossFire and be miserable... Decisions...

for a start no X1800XT optimizations, so much for there ringbus crap.
also Fable and Nfs Mw and Battle field shadow bugs wich have been there for ever and still not a sign of getting fixed.
and finaly h.264 support isnt there updates for this aswell, ? or any news on this function becuse there clearly is bugs in that aswell.
nothing new apart from a small bugfix release without anything new or updated.....
im just dissapointed thats all.

OK... Fable... Last time i played it on the X1800 (been a couple of months) it worked fine. What bug do you have? And are you using max shadows?
NFS:MW This issue wasnt submitted to ATI in any numbers so wasnt prioritised for a fix. I pointed them to the concern earlier and they are investigating now.
Can you give us a description of the BF issue also, i was playing it earlier and it seemed to be fine.
H.264 is working fine as of cat 5.13, you need to install the decoder though which you can find here: http://www.cyberlink.com/cinema/ati/.../enu/index.jsp
I agree there isnt much new... not exactly sure why you were expecting anything else though? What sort of thing would you like to see in 6.2 / 6.3?

Note to everyone, please submit all your bugs to ATI via their website... if you dont there is less chance of them getting fixed.
E.g. NFS MW!
Thanks

man lately all that u have said about the drivers has been negative and its starting to bug me..
for 1 ati doesnt have to give u a damn driver every damn month, say thank you that they fix bugs and stuff.
2. NFS SHADOW BUG IS THE GAME BUG NOT ATI FOR THE 203423042340th time
3. ati clearly stated that when they find ways to optimize their hardware they do so...
4. just because its a 6.1 new number release doesnt mean they owe us extreme uberness
good things come to people who wait, unless u can join another company which releases drivers on a random basis sometimes not adding that much....
i agree there hasent been TOO much amazing stuff lately, but to be honest im glad with this release, this and 5.13 are the fastest drivers to date and they both are extremely solid.
so please stop being so negative it doesnt help any one

In a way, I agree with Alpha. Let all of us ATI "haters" do the right thing instead of preaching on deaf ears - let's switch to NVIDIA. They seem to get their drivers right the first time; they don't need stupid "modders." Also, they release new betas constantly to give us a taste of what's to come so we don't wait for a boring release. Until DH can get their scaley c_ck out of ATI's butt, I'm going to switch to a different site/forum.

I can't believe they never fixed the corruption problems with BF2 and the x1800XL
UNBELIVABLE
I have to go back to 5.11 and that doesn't have any of the so called new features in the last few releases.
I was thinking of an r580, now it looks like G71 for me.
3 months and still no fix?
