im refering to Mexico '86 when the kicked us off the park, their general gamesmanship was despicable, their cheating and play acting was the most vile i have ever witnessed, simply they do not deserve to be in the world cup

They hosted the first world cup in 1930, so you have to give them a little credit for that. I do hate all that acting though, it irks me greatly to watch a grown man pretend to writhe in agony just to try to trick the ref into getting a free kick. Sickening. Remember Jurgen Klinsmann? One of the worst offenders.

hey,
i have always been kinda wondering how some type of people in the usa can be so into watching sports and getting so mad when there team loses and switch favorite teams just to be with a winner.it really makes me laugh.but to hear the way you guys and maybe girls stick with your teams no matter what is pretty cool.i have seen some of the riots on tv and those reallity shows and that is dedication.i wish i could be that passionate about something.later and good luck to all

The turcs just acted like idiots against the swiss though. I don't mind fanboism but injuring the Swiss players was just a bit over the top.

that was almost 20 years ago, most of the players, if not all, in that team would have retired by now, so your comment still doesn't count for much

sorry dj, but you really have a bit to learn about the scottish mentality toward these matters.
not uncommon at all to hear to this day, people in the pub mouthing off about how "we beat those english b*stards right after they won the World Cup in '66, which makes us effective world cup champions!"
and things of that ilk.....
as a nation, we just don't let go of anything!
i've got a couple aussie mates, and you guys are so much more laid back than us its not funny
