3rd Party VGA cooling solutions - Shuttle Compliant

I've got a LeadTek 6600GT GTH Edition that's overclocked from the factory and ran fine in my tower but since installing it in my Shuttle SD31P (and to no surpise) there's no where for the heat to go and tempertures rise above 70 degrees C when playing 3D games.

I cannot use the NV Silencer 6 (which is the only dual-slot cooler out there) because the CPU fan shroud is in the way - and its oversized for the case, and Zalman's cooler just pulls the heat off the GPU, and isn't removed from the case.

I'm not looking to break any speed records but I hate underclocking my card just to keep it from getting glyphs and affects on my screen.

Thoughts, anyone? Experiences maybe?

My other diea is to replace it with a 7800GT because they tend to run cooler and the fan blows air toward the CPU fan which can remove the heat quite easily - is my thinking logical in that?

I have an x800 and not really having a heat problem with the video card.. but what i would suggest is possibly a Slot cooler as i have read alot of good things for them with the shuttles and video card overheating. If the slot cooler is pulling hot air off the back of the card it will still cool it down nicely.

a slot cooler's actually a pretty good idea

I'd say try a slot cooler... or you could find an MSI 6600GT with the older style cooling. it's copper. I have two of them that I'm selling. they stay really cool. Even in an SLI setup without much airflow over them they don't get over 60 at load.

Yeah, that was going to be my fall-back idea but my experience with those are 'they're cheap' and 'prone to failure' not to mention the fact they're a bit noisy.

I really with some company would design a cooler like the NV/ATI Silencer series for Shuttle PC's.

Maybe I'll shop around for a 'better' slot cooler and give it a whirl. THX for the suggestions!
