Just got an eVGA Geforce 6800NU

I picked it up for $300cnd (about 230usd), with no tax, from a guy who got it as a gift from a someone in the US. It was still brand new in the original box. He had a better one already. Ya, I know it is not a GT or an Ultra, but it is still a nice upgrade from my ATi 9600Pro.

Anyway, this is my first nVidia card in about 5 years, are there any tips or tricks I should know about? I don't even know where to start with this card,

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Gutty

Nah, it's all good so far, I used Driver Cleaner Pro to clean the ATi stuff off. It installed and it running great. I just want to know what programs, tweaks, and tips are out there for this card.

No flaming because I'm an ATI user, but I've heard of a program called "rivatune" or "rivatuner" that can unlock the pixel pipelines that the vanilla 6800 has but does not use.

And FYI: It's "traitor."

get rivatuner then do this:
http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/

Unlocking The 6800NU

Step 1. Install Riva Tuner

Step 2. In the MAIN tab, click on CUSTOMIZE in the TARGET ADAPTER area

Step 3. In the popup menu, click on the CARD icon (LOW-LEVEL SYSTEM SETTINGS)

Step 4. Click on the NVSTRAP DRIVER tab.

Step 5. Check the box next to ALLOW ENABLING HARDWARE MASKED UNITS. Select CUSTOM in the ACTIVE PIXEL/VERTEX UNITS CONFIGURATION dropdown. Click the CUSTOMIZE button.

Step 6. Click in the BIT FIELD/BIT MASK column to insert a checkmark to the left of the row for PIXEL UNITS marked disabled. Do the same for VERTEX UNITS.

Step 7. APPLY and OK buttons as required, then restart.

Step 8. Go back the NVSTRAP DRIVER tab. You should now see Custom (16x1,6vp) Indicating that all 16 pipelines (instead of 12) and all 6 vertex units (instead of 5) are enabled.

Thanks MiDKnYtE, I will try that today.

As far as switching from ATi to nVidia. The only ATi in my price range (200-300cnd) that is AGP, would be a 9800pro/xt. I am pretty sure that the 6800NU is the better card vs. a 9800pro/xt.

I hope it is! I just bought a 6800NU to replace my 9800pro>XT.
The 6800 is faster in Reviews anyway.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
